Why doesn't everyone take cricket powder instead of whey? Saw it when I was out getting protein and picked some up.

>cheap
>lots of protein per gram
>doesn't taste too bad

Am I missing something?

Been thinking of trying it. You liking it?

I literally just got it today. I'm cutting it with my regular protein powder and I'm liking it so far. Can't really attest to how well it works yet but it tastes fine mixed with something else.

Post a pic of it

I'm out right now, will be home in under an hour to take one. Do you mean the package or the powder itself?

I'm not a chink bro

Post body

Viral marketer. Whey absorbs faster and has a full amino complement including BCAAs, this faggot crap doesn't.

I'm not a marketer, genuinely asking why not. Based on the info on the packages it seems better. Don't know what BCAAs are, I'll look into them.

I saw this shit one at a grocery story. Had something like 40% of your daily recommended dose of iron per scoop and only 12g of protein. Sounded like a great way to fuck my organs up for 1/3 the protein per scoop.

Either and or
Or just tell me the brand

>Don't know what BCAAs are, I'll look into them.
What in God's name are you doing on Jow Forums.

Iron is going to cause bacteria blooms in the body of whoever drinks this shit it sounds like a weapon not a nutritional supplement.

Trying to learn... Why would I come here and talk to faggots like you if I already knew all this?

Fitpilled

No-name brand of a store in Canada.

Nutrition info says a serving is 6% of recommemded daily iron intake. Doesn't seem bad.

That is way too fucking high as are RDAs for iron. You are going to regret this shit.

6% is way too high? What's it gonna do to me?

You're going to get bacteria blooms everywhere, stomach cramps, skin infections, acne, all that kind of thing.

iron overload
damage to organs

>don't know what bcaas are
lol never change Jow Forums

Alright guys, thanks for the warnings. I'll stick with whey.

>They may also contain residues of pesticides and heavy metals from the ecosystem. Adverse human allergic reactions to edible insects could be also a possible hazard.

MMMMMMMM YUM YUM

I've accepted our fate as a cyberpunk society. Bring on the insect meat, if it fits my nutrition I'll eat it.

Sadly I'd probably be willing to eat butterfly

It's more expensive than whey since it's still a novelty item

Not economically viable.

Butterfly caterpillars, on the other hand...

just grind them up, put them in a taco and don't tell me what the meat is made of. Enough tabasco will make it tasty, I'm sure.

If you're a third worlder it's what you deserve to eat. Sounds mean but you need to take responsibility for your actions.

better than protein powders but worse than eggs, milk, fish and meat

Pretty sure that's equally true of whey. All animal products will pick up stuff from lower in the food chain.

Yeah; once it's widely available and cheap, I think I'll give it a go, but at the moment it just isn't convenient enough.

>be metaphorical locusts, breeding out of control, spreading across the earth, consuming everything
>eat literal locusts

>cheap
where? What I've seen is 5 times more expensive than whey

The bag I posted was $4 Canadian.

found the fucking gook

I'm not eating bugs

the RDA's are just the minimal amounts NEEDED so you won't get any deficiency diseases

From the hygienic point of view it should be pointed out that some insects may produce or contain toxic bioactive compounds. They may also contain residues of pesticides and heavy metals from the ecosystem. Adverse human allergic reactions to edible insects could be also a possible hazard.

Nutritional intake of such a diet is therefore balanced [11], [22]. Analysis of almost a hundred edible insect species showed that the content of essential amino acids represents 46–96% of the total amount of amino acids [18].
do you know what this means?

UTTER TRASH PROTEIN SOURCE

That's bullshit.

>all studies done where also filed by the same industry that makes the industrial food waste processed for human consumption

I'm going to kill the next motherfucker that tries to get me to eat insects

so you mean an active person needs the same amount of nutrients as a non-active person to maximize health benefits?

"The RDA’s prevent deficiencies, not diseaseAs stated earlier, the RDA’s were designed to prevent nutritional deficiencies, not chronic disease. These numbers were not created for optimal health. If you meet the RDA for vitamin C, then you prevent Scurvy. If you meet the recommendations for vitamin B 1 you will prevent Beri Beri. Yet, just preventing nutritional deficiency diseases like Scurvy or Beri Berie doesn’t make you healthy. There’s evidence that many of the RDA’s are too low (for example, vitamin D) and at the same time many are too high (for example, calcium)."

Additionally you need to take in account where from does the food come since some soils produce less nutritious foods (USA for example)

I mean it's basically true for minerals and vitamins. The vitamin C intake is based on what we're really certain won't get you scurvy. Vitamin D RDA is what stops rickets, etc

The results of whey have been proven for hundreds of years of real-life experience, if not thousands.
