I only do hindu pushups. They're superior in every ways to regular ones.
Think I read that it's to do with an undeveloped ligament in your wrist being overextended. It's good to exercise that ligament and loosen it up, but putting too much stress on it will buy you a one way ticket to snap city, and fucking up your wrist is just about one of the worst things you can do to your body.
