Do you know what the worst thing is about all of us being here on this board? We're all young yet act like middle-aged men with used-up lives. It makes me think of that scene in True Detective, "You end up becoming something you never intended." After by his own actions he ended his marriage the first time, had a long 7 years reunited back together, then fucked it up again, but never tried to go back after, and his life alone became him coming home from work, from occasionally browsing online dating sites, sitting in front of the TV eating a microwave meal. What the worst thing is is that even though he had his chance, he lived his life in its ups and downs, and became content with what he sowed. We haven't even fucking lived properly yet and we're already through with it all. We have the potential to change I suppose for our youth but it's already faded, here we are. We have no shame, no guilt yet.

Pretty sure I am lad. I've always been. I had a bad sickness when I was a babby and although it was treated and I was very close to dying it gave me some form of irreparable brain damage. Huh, I did. We've had a pretty similar experience in a lot of ways, but I have the diagnosis of ASPD (which I feel is unearned). The mask thing in particular resonates. It feels like a huge investment of mental energy goes into pretending to be like others, in some nebulous but extremely significant way. Plus somehow it seems like people always know but maybe can't quite prove it or put their finger on it; they just know something is 'wrong'. And you don't know how to fix it, no matter how hard you try.

Been depressed for 20+ years, managed to actually start scoring some pussy when I was in my early 20s even though I was CONVINCED I was going to die a forever alone virgin.
