I'm 5'7, bought some shoes with a bit of extra sole, rather than the joggers I normally wear. Also put some comfort insoles in there, not lifts. Have me like two extra inches. Still not tall obviously, bit it makes a huge difference with the way people treat you. I'd absolutely go for it. You might get the same results I did just by wearing shoes with a bigger sole, rather than going full lift.
