Not necessarily, depends if you do the same exercise e.g squats each time you're in the gym, if I recall correctly.

Just change the fucking ratio of big movements. Instead of squatting 3 times a week and pressing twice, do pressing 3 times and squatting twice. Also change power cleans for weighted chin-ups. Done, et voila

Third, asking a beginner to pick an easy program and change some things he doesnt like (with help of more experienxed lifters) isnt a bad idea, it will help him in the future so he doesnt depend on programs
Do SS until 1/2/3/4 and GOMAD until 200lbs. Jumping into an "aesthetics" routine when you're not strong enough to move big weights is a waste of time.

Lyle McDonald's generic bulking routine is good. GZCLP, 531 for beginners, etc. Basically you want something that gives more attention to the upper body than what SS/SL do.
nigga, for a newbie it should be more importatn to build strength. strength is size, and newbie gainz will help for aesthetics.
