Maybe not in the long run, but if you're trying to cut its a good form of intermittent fasting. I don't like doing it, I just eat my 3 clean meals a day, minimal sugar and plenty of cardio (I do roughly 20000 steps a day at work) and I do SL 5x5 3 days a week. The BF is falling off me like nothing.

One meal a day is incredibly retarded. The body prefers a slow release of nutrients throughout the day, not to cram your digestive system with a boatload of fried shit all at once. Whatever GH benefit you think you're getting, or whatever insulin resistance you think you're getting, it's not significant, and omad is far inferior to several moderate and well balanced meals throughout the day. I guess it works if your an obese fat ass, but if you're a normal dude trying to get fit by lifting, you're better off eating a protein and carbs meal with little fat every 2-3 hours.

Honestly, no, just eat poultry, greens, berries, and complex carbs. Lift heavy ass weight. Take a couple of walks a week. Sleep 8 hours a night, every night.
