Can't squat

How do I cope with not being able to squat for a good while. My right hip is fucked, big time, from me being a faggot and ignoring the pain while squatting. More deadlifts maybe? Leg curls? I love squatting so this is very depressing and I need your hugs and snuggles to keep me from kyssing myself, fit.

I am cutting and was able to maintain strength until I got a 2 week cold and once that was over I injured both my right hip and left shoulder.

Haven't been able to press, bench, squat or DL for 3 weeks. Only pull ups, ab work and isolation faggot shit for me. I fucking hate this.

My condolences man. That sucks. I'm cutting too. Probably why I got injured. Gotta take it more easy next time. Wish somebody had told me that you can't go 100% when cutting

We're still gonna make it bro

Wouldn't be making it if it was all smooth sailing.

Take the bodyweight pill bb. Great day to work the legs without loading your hips at all. An aside: your hips are fucked up but you're still deadlifting?

honestly just have to lol at you for literally lifting through pain

I admire that you're a moron, but in the future, understand injuries will set you back years, potentially end your bodybuilding career, and leave you with chronic pain

see a chiro, have him open up your hips, do bodyweight squats for like 3+ months and try to rebuild strength/mobility

Yeah the pain is only when I go to parallel or below. Bodyweight is cool but I think imma do leg curls instead.

Know that feel OP, I fucked up my back right as I was about to hit a major squat milestone a few months back. That was the first time I've ever cried because of failure as an adult.
Try to get your hip looked at, and use leg press or other machines in the meantime.

I know I'm a retard but in my defence: I'm most terrified of losing my discipline and that's why I ignored the pain. I'll make an appointment next week.

Suit yourself mate

>more deadlifts maybe?

Yeah that'll be great for your hip injury

See

So? Deadlift is literally a hip hinge. If you have a hip injury you shouldn't be anywhere near deadlifts.

But keep lifting brah, it's gonna be soooo lit when you can't walk

1. Can you squat light weights
2. Can you do a partial range of motion? Pin squat?
3. Can you do another close variation? Box squats? Front squats? Smith machine squats?
4. Can you train the same muscles another way? Leg press? Leg extension?

Work your way down the list buddy.

The hip being a ball joint can move in a variety of ways, only one of which is bad for my injury.
Thanks

And read up on pain science. Watch Austin Baraki’s videos on the topic.

The idea is to keep training as normally as possible without causing yourself too much pain. It really doesn’t matter if you don’t squat perfectly for a while - you’ll still get stronger.

Damn this is some good shit. Should be in the sticky, stuff like this. Thanks for the recommendation. Imma try pin squats

>gets pain in hip
>works through pain
>gets injured
>”hurr durr guyse how can I keep working out through the injury
Real smart bro, how about giving the injury some time to rest so you don’t fuck yourself up even further?

>Stop doing curls because your leg is injured
This is how smart you sound

OP is talking about doing deadlifts and leg curls, obviously upper body work is fine so long as the hips aren’t involved

Obviously everything is fine so long as no pain is involved.

I own that sweater!

Same thing here, OP, except it's my left hip. I was in physical therapy for a while and here's the things I do to help:

>45-degree leg press
>my gym has another leg press that's more lateral and the chair moves instead of the foot plate. It's great for upper butt work.
>calf work - either standing with dumbells or any of the machines (standing, leg press, etc)
hip adductor/abductor machines OR do the same movement by laying on your side with a plate on your hip. Don't worry about looking gay. I started doing this at my gym and now all the big dudes do it because it really hits your ass. This was actually a movement from physical therapy.
>cable work - donkey pulls and whatnot

nice pic, OP
