Do you lift the pain away robots?
Do you lift the pain away robots?
Yes going to the gym is one of the only times I don't feel dead inside
Are you me?
I have started going twice a day some days when the feels get particularly bad
i lift weights but i can't say it makes me happy
every time after the gym i'm in an annoyed, bad mood
i just do it because i know it's healthy and i want to be stronger
i wish i could enjoy it though, like some people claim to
back when i did sports, i always hated them too. i thought it was just because my parents forced me to do them, but exercise doesn't make me happy for some reason
No, but I really should. What machines do you even use? Is there a beginners guide for this? I went to a free day once, and was completely lost.
truth is the gym is absolutely useless, if you life somewhere near a forest or a larger green space go run there, do your cardio, run(even better if its with some kind of weight like a backpack filled with stuff), climb, as for muscles just do home stuff, pushups, crunches, planks etc etc, only thing faggots at the gym do is pump without any real use
Jow Forums sticky boyo
Are you pushing enough to get a pump going, so that your body is releasing dopamine and growth hormone? Thats the high that a lot of people ride on in lifting
I do, it's probably the only thing keeping me from going insane right now. When I stop lifting for few days, depression hits 5 times harder, so I have to lift to live.
I've started doing yoga with adrienne and some bodyweight routine exercises on youtube. Sometimes I do the pussycat dolls workout because I am basic
cardiofags are cancer. Its one thing if you wanna be a twink for homosexual purposes but don't invalidate yourself by saying sonething as dumb as
>truth is the gym is absolutely useless
Or
>only thing faggots at the gym do is pump without any real use
Putting on muscle WON'T actually kill you buddy
>Are you pushing enough to get a pump going, so that your body is releasing dopamine and growth hormone? Thats the high that a lot of people ride on in lifting
the harder i push, the more miserable it makes me
i've been lifting on/off for 7 years. i am on an 8 month streak now.
sometimes, when i drive home, i'm super pissed off for no reason. this is despite consuming sugar post-workout (so it's not glycogen depletion) and also smoking tobacco, which chills me out
I'm pretty fat. I'm 6'7 370lbs. A family member told me that I'll fuck up my feet if I run at this weight. Is there any truth to that?
Thanks I'll check it out.
Please be a qt trap
Strange, almost makes me wonder if its not a hormonal imbalance or sonething similiar that you're dealing with. Might wanna look into that with docs and psychs if you can.
i bet you have one of those shitty paint brush haircuts dont you
yea you certainly will fuck up your ankles, i was about 260 lbs, start with walks, hikes, learn how to breathe etc etc, pumping wont do shit for you currently, you'll just build the muscle under the fat and you'll look even bigger
t. me i was huge as fuck(fat wise)
Yeah, going straight into running will fuck up your knees and ankles. Start with walks and lose weight. Start counting calories.
>Strange, almost makes me wonder if its not a hormonal imbalance or sonething similiar that you're dealing with. Might wanna look into that with docs and psychs if you can.
they'll probably tell me some dumb shit, like to not lift weights. that's the only exercise i care to do though. don't want
if i stop exercising i gain fat immedaitely and rapidly
I used to, but it didn't change anything
then I ended up taking a one way ticket to snap city and I can't really lift anymore
You'll be absolutely miserable trying to do any real cardio at that rate and do run the risk of injury. I would recommend starting a lifting routine while eating less, so you will drop fat and get stronger at the same time. Weight lifting is proven to burn far more calories than cardio, trying to run/bike/"sweat" pounds off is a meme. If you want to pursue cardio for health reasons, wait till you're at a healthier weight range.
As for lifting for the first time, follow the Jow Forums sticky and look up proper form instructions for the exercises you will do. Theres no shame in bringing your phone to the gym and looking up proper form there and then, its actually the smartest thing you can do if you're not comfortable with a lift yet. You won't be the only noob there either, in fact you might even find another one to buddy up with and pusb each other.
You have the power to make a huge change, but it won't happen over night
stop lying to the guy, he has to lift for ages to burn any actual calories and at his current state he probably cant maintain a long lifting time, he should just cut calories at first and walk and lift inbetween
Well, if they tell you that you don't necessarily have to listen to them. If its a problem that can be fixed as easily as taking a prescription it might be worth it though. Just saying, I suffered with delibilitating panic disorder for a decade before finally getting on a prescription that helps me live life somewhat normally
>shitty paint brush haircuts
Is that like the chad meme haircut? But no I'm a shaved head mutt lol, I simply don't understand people with the attitude you have towards lifting. Its contrary to GENERATIONS of scientific as well as anecdotal evidence
yes, lifting while fucked up on caffeine and listening to black metal is the best shit ever
because from the standpoint of a fat person lifting doesnt give any good results proportional to the work done, he isnt trying to bulk and look huge, he's trying to drop the weight, making muscles under the fat is gonna make him look like an absolute unit
>If its a problem that can be fixed as easily as taking a prescription it might be worth it though
a prescription to stop me from being irritated as a result of lifting weights? yeah such a thing does not exist. i'm not gonna pay a doctor to tell me to not lift weights, or to go easier, or take a break
Ita best to do body recomp by eating less and lifting at the same time. Lifting burns calores so much faster tham cardio or dieting alone. I would never say that the results will come instantly, most people want to give up after the first day of soreness they experience. But if you start small and press on, you will be making a significant change over time.
Your attitude is very defeatist. Telling someone who is very overweight to stick to cardio and dieting is a surefire way to make them miserable. When you're overweight you don't get things like runners high, you just puke and feel like you're dying. At least with lifting even an overweight person can experience the dopamine rush
im acting like that because i went through it, and cardio and cutting calories made me drop fairly fast and i was feeling pretty good, im not saying he should eat only dust, and i think mood wise its much better to go out for a walk than close yourself in a gym
This is entirely backwards man. I know from experience that lifting is the best way to get results that you want. You can diet down and get skinnyfat and be miserable and rebound, you can kill yourself with cardio, or you can build a foundation for pumping iron while restricting your calories so instead of going from big gut and moobs to tiny gut and tiny moobs, you can actually lean out and look like a proper human being.
Read the Jow Forums sticky yall, I'm out
lets agree to disagree, user should choose the best way for himself, just dont overwork yourself, take it slow whatever you decide to do, dont starve yourself, and if you cant outright stop junk food replace it, i replaced sodas with fizzy water because it gave me the same feel, as for chips and stuff i like rice cakes
Stay away from machines. The only thing you really need to be near is the power rack and bench. That is all. Squats, deadlifts, rows, overhead press, and bench press.
yes, but I'm still a socially awkward lanklet
