The only reason it was up for debate in the past was the space on SSDs was pretty limited, but now you can get a 1TB SSD for like $100. No question SSD is better

thats why you try and cause as much water damage as possible, you could also try melting it if you have access to that something that can produce the level of heat required. Not guaranteed to make everything irretrievable but one of the best shots you have.
