A destination based cash flow tax (DBCFT) is a good idea to combat tax avoidance strategies. Such a tax system would align corporate interests with the national interest and render most offshore tax avoidance strategies null and void.

Although such a system isn't aligned to any political party, and there is no reason it should be - both Trump and the Republican party have backed such a tax system in 2016 - see the paper "A Better Way - our vision for a confident America" by the GOP.

There is strong support across the aisle for such a system, with lobbyists such as the Koch brothers fighting against it through AFP
