I like abstract painting, but many of the examples didn't strike me as bold or but instead kitschy. It didn't help that many of the paintings in general were heavily cropped -- the effect of a piece's composition (which might be a key part of a style's appeal) is diminished.

Everyone in the test were uggos -- at the same you will naturally rate a large sample of random strangers harshly. But still. I see more guys I find cute going to the local service station than in this 140 fucking faces sample.

I think it's mostly related to trait "openness" in the big five model.
I'm pretty open, in other words, I like weird shit.
Maybe autists are more "grounded", have less fantasy and therefore prefer more realistic art.
I am definitely on the spectrum, but maybe I'm the exception when it comes to this sort of thing.
Anyway, I'm not a big weeb and I don't really like anime that much.
But anime to me seems more abstract than realistic, so I'm not sure that's it.
