Rowing. pros/cons?

i started rowing a few weeks ago, been doing intervals and time trials, it's been good so far, but I feel as if there are some hidden cons, and also some hidden pros.

Pro- Up to 86% muscle engagement.
Pro- Low impact exercise
Pro- Can go at your own pace and still get a great workout
Pro- Cardio without Running
Pro- Can use it for long cardio or HIIT sessions

Con- Can be pricey to buy your own.
Con(maybe)- May need to start slow to build lower back and core strength.

I have a C2 PM5 at home. Got it 11/2018. Has 1.3M meters on it already.

The are no cons.
KING OF CARDIO
don't forget your facepulls

I own one and it is so incredibly difficult to get a good long cardio sesh in. If I don't do HIIT training, 10 minutes on the thing feels like it takes years to complete. I normally walk Max incline in a treadmill and that goes by so quickly in my mind. Any tips on how to make the time go by faster for LISS training in this thing?

>Low Intensity Steady State
>Difficult to get heart rate up

Up the intensity a bit with either increasing spm or setting the damper up one number.

Cons: borrrrrring

Just build a trireme and paddle around with your mates. Same work out, more fun.

Hidden Pros: none
Hidden Cons: you sit at home, you don't get anywhere, it's boring, you're not an olympic rower

No no. I can get my heart rate up just fine.

My problem is that 30 mins on a rowing machine feels like it takes ages compared to a treadmill for example... I'm just wondering if there's anything I can do to make the time pass quicker on a rowing machine

You have to get in the zone, just like you do with running. It could be that your technique is not that fluent so with each stroke you have to pay attention. When it is as routine as running you can just clear your head.

Thanks I appreciate the advice and will definitely try to incorporate it into my workouts.
