>be me >be last September >had accident, destroyed arm (pic related) >had been working out beforehand, lurking fit, had finally cut down to 12% BF, was going to start bulking the day of accident >miserable afterwards, continue to lose weight, get down to 140 (from 190) >doctor tells me I can start working out again >was having trouble doing reps of lmao1pl8 bench beforehand >doing reps of 160 on bench today >hungry as fuck for more gains
Don’t let anything stop you Jow Forumsizens. We are all gonna make it
OP here. Does anyone have the greentext of the guy going to the gym, he always sees the older guy there, older guy tells him to deadlift, he hits huge PRs lifting with the old guy, finds out the old guy lost his family, etc.
Jason Howard

Daniel Thomas

Jaxson Adams
I have 2 screwa inside my hand because I broke two metacarpal bones because I was very retarded back then. They still annoy me and reduce my hands mobility 2 years after surgery. Did you break any bones OP? Any differences you notice comparing your actual sessions with the ones before surgery?
Chase Anderson
Good shit my man, please don't post that I can't take those feels right now.

Best wishes on your FIT journey user.

I broke my arm (radius) while snowboarding in March...I went through surgery a couple of months ago and now I'm at the end of my rehab....how long was it before you could lift again?
Ian Parker
man i broke my spine in 3 places and had to wear a back brace for 6 months iktf bro.
>tfw wasn’t given any rehab and just had to gym it up myself
Wyatt Cox
basically did the same thing to my leg (broke tibia and fibula) and it took around 7 months for it to recover enough and start lifting again
Brandon Ross
Good work Op. Here is a story from my grandpa. >upon hitting retirement, moves to small slot of land innawoods >Builds his own 2 story house by himself out of nails and planks of wood >No electricity, no warm water >has a mobile generator for when he needs power, otherwise it's oil lamps, candles and gaz >told me he had to break the fucking ice on the shower head so the frozen cold water would flow to take a shower in winter >tends to his vegetables, chicken >has old and young (students) friends in city nearby for drink and food once in a while >spends the rest of his te with his feral cats, reads and writes plays >based human overall >well into 70's rides his bike everywhere and walks a fuckton >One day, accident. Has to go to hospital for cervix and leg injury >nerves have damage >has to stay in hospital a full month >the doctors say, given his age he will probably never walk again >death sentence in his eyes, an elderly home or care center would have broken his free spirit >out of sheer fucking willpower he teaches his legs how to move again >close to 80 years old he recovered within 3 months and was on his bycicle again >died a few years ago reaching 90 but damn, he was the real deal Kind, independent and in love with life to the end. Never give up bros, your mind guides your body
I remember something for this thread I think. >father and I play games out in the yard or in parks a lot as a kid. >he would coach for baseball/soccer teams when he could. >he serves in military so I dont see him too much until I'm a teen >he ends up retiring due to medical issues >has a liver transplant and some surgery on his right foot. >can't run anymore, has to live off of meds for his liver/body overall >as a teenager I have an interest in lifting >wish I had someone to lift with me and teach me things >I lift like all of hell on my own, get compliments by my friends at the time and am happy with myself. >can now only look forward to surviving long enough to raise my own kids. I don't want to leave some kid to have to teach himself everything. It can be annoying when you need help starting off and don't know where to go.
Now when I think about lifting, I can only imagine fulfilling that fatherly role in the future for my own kids, I hope.
Damn, son! Good fucking job! I imagine the worst part of getting back into it might have been mental. At least you got a wicked scar and an excellent story out of the deal I'm excited to see a thread on your next big PR
>One day, accident. Has to go to hospital for cervix and leg injury >cervix You're grandpa was a tranny???
Samuel James
Thank you
Evan Kelly
Yea. I’m making gains. Adding more every week. That’s where I am right now. Will be at 2 pl8 in a couple months
Luis King
Yea I broke my radius and ulna. Pic in OP is basically where my hand is a few inches left of where it should be because the bones completely severed. One plate and seven screws on each bone. The only difference I notice is my wrist hurts really bad sometimes but I’m hoping diddlys will strengthen my forearm to overcome it
Camden Sanders
I had surgery maybe three days after the break? Then after that it was about a month until doc authorized me to lift. Started back with low low weight (just the bar first day back) to get my muscles used to it again
Oliver Lewis
Appreciate it man. I’m certainly working on it. Don’t usually make threads. Usually lurk. Really working on 1 pl8 OHP and 2 pl8 BP but realized I was being a lazy loser about squat and DL so I’m working on that too now. DL is hard because my grip fails on my right arm but that’s an excuse not a solution so I keep going
