easy. to perpetuate White guilt by faking a "White supremacist" attack. the goal being recieving more sympathy and more handouts for his people.

I think that there are a few things at play.
First of all, he's a mentally ill narcissist. His realistic level of fame and success weren't satisfactory to him based on his self-perception. Such an attack would garner waves of sympathy and attention, which he covets.
Second of all, he's a political zealot. He genuinely buys into the "average Trump supporters want to lynch gay black people" narrative. As such, he had no problem orchestrating the "attack" on him or throwing them under the bus. In his world, the details of the attack completely checked out, even though they're ridiculous to any outside observer. He likely got the idea from hanging out with Kamala Harris to promote her anti-lynching legislation.
Third of all, he viewed the attack as an opportunity to raise his profile as an actor. As he was able to kill three birds with one stone (raising his profile as an actor, making himself indispensable on Empire, vilifying those rotten Trump supporters, validating his world view), why wouldn't he do it? In his world, everything about it made perfect sense. It was all perfect. He'd be a hero who gained endless sympathy and support, become a household name actor, all while pushing his politics and validating his worldview.

He paid 2 black guys to attack him and say racist and homophobic stuff to him because a letter he recieved saying the same stuff got no media attention.

because the left and mainstream media values the perceived victimhood of women/non whites above all else, giving people money, attention, etc just for being a victim who isn't a white male. whenever some trait is so highly valued in society, there will always be people who fake it to get those benefits
