Has antidepressants helped with your social anxiety?
Has antidepressants helped with your social anxiety?
they help to give you diabetes and heart disease in which you die in your 30s
I don't really get social anxiety, but they don't help with my general anxiety (driving, for example). Having said that, they do nearly completely nullify my crippling OCD, which is pretty nice.
They can help somewhat, although benzos are much more effective.
No, stay away from antidepressants. They killed my libido permently after taking them. My anxiety is even higher than ever thinking that everyone knows I have E.D. Even years later after quitting, I still have problems.
I overdosed mine for the lulz.
so far no OP, im gonna try upping my dose one more time before i give up and let my life completely implode i reckon tbqh
No. They didn't do anything for me.
Antidepressants are trash, don't take them. Get benzodiazepines if you're struggling with anxiety.
>on two different classes of antidepressants, a mood stabilizer, and an anti-anxiety med
How long before I die lads?
>I overdosed mine for the lulz.
was it epic
Yes, yes, yes and yes. Didn't listen these faggots that say they are useless. They're not. I'm a lot calmer in social situations after taking them for 2 months.
You can't feel bad about anything unless you really try. And then you feel horrible if you do. Also you feel like you're in a bubble. Then I smoked an weed and ended up 100 miles from home by bumping a train and proceeded to get fucked up on coke.
How long did it take before it started to work
2 months on SSRI, but everyone is different
kinda and kinda not, i don't get scared of people anymore but i still get unreasonably angry when i look at them, and that has the same effects as social anxiety pretty much, just changed the process to the same result. I still can't go outside but results would differ depending on your mental state and feelings i think, maybe it works for other people idk.
Perfectly fine with me.
tried sertraline, paroxetine, luvox and escitalopram
NONE OF IT WORKED.
how long did you stay on each?
I took Fluoxetine or whatever for two weeks and my head hurt daily. I stoppped taking it and felt better.
dont take meds for social anxiety but rather depression
I'm doing St Johns Wort daily at the moment and it really can help with depression but anxiety, particularly social anxiety, not so much... Gonna move onto proper SSRIs in a few months but I'm pretty nervous. Is it worth the risk given how bad my situation is? My social anxiety is so severe I am completely incapable of holding a basic conversation or forming the most casual acquaintances. Maybe autistic too but still in referral process.
sounds like me m8. they do nothing except give you some side effects. complete waste of time for me
Don't take pills to cope and be complacent with this damaged world. Live or suicide as an authentic person
And much more addictive
I doubt it. Serotonin syndrome is no joke.
the is the definition of brainlet
Benzos aren't a long term solution. God send for panic attacks, though.
You are thinking of atypical antipsychotics - more for bipolar and schizophrenia. And even then there are those within that class with lower side effect profiles.
Antidepressants used to be pretty shitty like 40 years ago. But all the more modern ones have super low side effect profiles.
ADs haven't helped me at all, but neither did they do any damage.
SSRIs have a very mild side effect profile especially when compared to a host of other classes of medication.
The worse thing they can do is make it take longer to make a cummer. Which can be good or bad depending.
At the end of the day though SSRIs and all antidepressants should be used in conjunction with cognitive behavioral therapy. That way you dont have to take them forever.
They can help put you in a more positive less dysfunctional mindset where you can make healthy revelations to take with you even when you get off of em.
how long were you on them
yeah man i take prozac and i have no problems making small talk with strangers now
I've been on sertraline for about a month and a half and I haven't really noticed a change apart from being unable to cum for like a week after starting and insomnia so yea not much help so far but hey maybe it's just a slow burner
those shit symptoms have a 50% chance of going away. I had the same isue when i started prozac, it took me over half an hour of non-masturbation to cum, if i stopped for even a second to think about something i'd lose my entire erection and id have to start over. now im back to cumming in 5 minutes like the retarded animal i am.
yea I can cum in usual time now but when I started it took me 3 whole agonizing hours of furious wanking before I just gave up from being unable to come
how long before it started working
No
Everything is worse
Ssri s destroyed my body and made me more nervous. Lorazepam is my worst best friend. It helps a lot but when i take it a few times in a row i can't go out anymore, cant look in strangers faces and faces of my beloved ones are getting more foreign.
I fucking need help
My paranoia and my broken hearth are killing me everyday. Cant stop crying for days i cant take it anymore
i dont know two or three months
sertaline - my whole childhood
paroxetine - 3 months
luvox - 1 month
escitalopram - 2 months
yea, the worst effect of all is reduced libido.
>sertaline - my whole childhood
At what age did you start?
i'm sorry user hang in there :( tell those symptoms to your therapist he probably knows what to do
Venlafaxine and bupropion are working for me. I especially suggest bupropion if you have a past with drug usage.
SSRI didn't work on me, but an SNRI did. Helped more for anxiety than depression, funny cause I'm still depressed
Yeah, escitalopram at 20mg a day basically killed my anxiety. I don't give a shit about anything anymore. I just enjoy the moment.
No but adderall sure does
weird, I was about to post the exact same thing
lexapro deleted my social anxiety. I still get panic attacks occasionally tho.
SNRIs tend to be more effective than SSRIs for anxiety because it inhibits Norepinephrine reuptake instead of serotonin. Norepinephrine is a critical component in our sympathetic nervous system which is responsible for our fight or flight response.
>paroxetine - 3 months
>luvox - 1 month
>escitalopram - 2 months
what retarded doctor prescribed you those?
SSRIs are supposed to take 6-8 weeks to START working, the typical course is 6 months
How long before it started working ori
SSRIs effectiveness against anxiety tend to start popping up after 4 weeks of continuous usage. The longer you go from there, the effectiveness will only increase until it mellows out 6 months - 1 year in.
what happens if you dont feel anything after 4 weeks
