You know children arent getting UBI right?

VAT are typically zero-sum and suffer from deadweight loss:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deadweight_loss

When we're speaking of proportionately increasing economic throughput by reallocating these funds to a universal basic income the economic benefit may outweigh most of the deadweight loss.

Even though we're very aware of the issues of sales taxes and deadweight losses (reduced overall economic performance) there is little motivation to eliminate these problems such as tariffs, sales taxes, sin taxes and so on.

In fact I believe we just recently implemented the largest tariffs in world history...

>hasn't take the accelerationist pill yet

imagine being naive enough to actually believe this

HOLY SHIT THE BLESSED QUINTS OF YIN & YANG

One of the greatest potential benefits of universal basic income is the elimination of minimum wage.

This will enable vastly increased economic efficiency as it will be possible to hire someone to paint old buildings for $1.50 an hour, if they are willing to perform the work at such a rate.

While over-all upward pressure on wages will decrease the majority (98%?) of participants in the economy will see their total income levels increase.

This will reduce waste which will of course increase competition and improve net economic efficiency in every sector.

In other words the most desirable jobs will be paid the least while the least desirable jobs will become the best paid.

A janitor may be paid more than anyone else when the free market is allowed to operate correctly.

By eliminating survival as the motivation to seek employment, numerous workers will become available to perform tasks for little to no pay which they are willing to perform due to their enjoyment of performing those tasks in and of themselves.

For example it may become essentially free to have artists paint murals on the sides or insides of buildings.

Yeah. Him or maybe Bernie will get my vote.

Except the dollar will simply devalue and so everything you said goes directly down the fucking drain you dipshit

youre going to get the left button anyway with trump or whoever else wins, may as well get $1000 a month too

>Except the dollar will simply devalue
That's called inflation and it's happening right now. If you'd like to make a valid argument I'm all ears. You're arguing that UBI leads to out of control inflation? Is that correct?

Ultimately currency reflects a value in "work performed" which reduces to "energy".

If we either increase the amount of work performed or energy for a given amount of currency, the value of the current increases. This is deflation, not inflation.

This economic scenario has never occurred before in human history so I'd like to know the basis of an argument which attempts to claim such deflation leads to inflation.

that's not even that much money considering the us budget is approaching 4 trillion

employeewagesvsprofits.jpeg

This argument relies upon the existing system and no longer works under the proposed system.

You'll need to examine the facts on a case-by-case basis, not simply claim X leads to Z without explaining the "Y?"

Dude what? How does that follow? Everyone would be getting an extra $1k, so the ratios would stay exactly the same.

In this case yeah, since there isn't a button that says "Rewind." Might as well get the cash.

I'm saying your premise is false
>If we either increase the amount of work performed or energy for a given amount of currency, the value of the current increases. This is deflation, not inflation.

>How does that follow?
If people are making what they need to survive without employment it means we will be able to eliminate all associated welfare programs and socialist centralized economic controls such as minimum wage.

With the increase in available workforce and the lack of any motivation to remain employed for the purpose of survival, remuneration will become the sole weight balancing undesirable jobs in the positive direction.

Therefore the least desirable jobs will need to pay more (when the work is worthwhile) in order to attract employees.

The free market at work!

>I'm saying your premise is false
Which premise? It's a dictionary definition.

>In economics, inflation is a sustained increase in the general price level of goods and services in an economy over a period of time.

Therefore if the prices decrease we see deflation, not inflation. If you can get more work for the same amount of currency your currency is inherently worth more.

Q.E.D.

the amount of work performed has increased over the past few decades and the value of currency has inflated not deflated, you putz see

You're not making any valid argument. You're just stating things. An argument is a response contradicting another argument via sharing of facts or pointing out flaws in logic.

Your premise is incorrect guy, there is no argument when there is no premise wtf

no fuck off we aren't your personal army fuck off back to pol or something

For example here are valid arguments:

>the amount of work
According to what measure?

>the value of currency has inflated not deflated
Again, according to what measure? If we look at computers the value of a computer measured in its computational ability has increased exponentially while the price has dropped linearly during the same period. Energy efficiency has also increased. Therefore any work performed via computation has become far less valuable; meaning the value of a currency in purchasing computation has risen significantly. The cost of computation has deflated exponentially so.

>Your premise is incorrect guy
Which premise? You're right, there is no argument when you can't even point out what you're arguing against. Why are you typing at all?

you fucking retard, do you even read the posts you are replying to or do you just like to read your own words lmao wtf
