Fembots, what do you think of motherhood in general?

I love the idea but I know I'd be a terrible mother. It's probably for the best that I don't have kids. Plus I don't think anyone would want to start a family with me.

It is desirable (and admirable) for me personally, but I grew up without a mom and I've been mistreated my whole life by my caretaker so I'm sure I'd need therapy before even considering it. But mostly I'm just afraid of continuing the cycle and ending up treating my children the same way I was treated.

On motherhood, I don't want it for myself but I don't see it as lesser. My mother has her flaws but she was an excellent mother because she is a natural caretaker. My cousin was the same way, even when we were little girls she would trail the family babies around, mothering them, imitating our mothers. I never had that instinct and I never felt very mothering. Some women are meant for it, I mean obviously, how else would our species continue? And thank God for them. I think motherhood, as well as fatherhood, are essential roles that people play in our society but it isn't remarkable, if that makes sense.
On the expectation of women to be caring and compassionate, I agree that it is skewed unfairly. Emotional labor is a very real thing. I have a more modern and equal relationship but I notice it in mine all the time (planning our meals, keeping our household in order, taking care of our animals, planning gifts and cards even for my bf's family, more expectations for eitquette/family help and chores than my little brothers are expected to).

I think it's stupid that I'll be working for what, 5 years, before I have children which will fuck things up. I wish I could have just been a mother but now most families need dual income, it means most women don't get to raise their kids properly, and probably be unhappy in a job at the same time. I wouldn't go as far as to say that women shouldn't be allowed into uni, but there should be more education surrounding the other options. If less women went to uni, there would be more jobs for men with higher pay, less competition, and then less families would have to survive on dual income.

As a dude 10 years in to a career, it baffles me to see all these young people - men and women, but particularly women - who think they are going to find fulfillment in life through work. In reality, maybe one percent of the population lives to work and is truly happy with that. I have plenty of money and I hate my life. But all these kids want to emulate it. I definitely was one of those people who thought they were going to find fulfilment in work, but as I'm nearing the end of uni, nothing terrifies me more than a life of an office job.
