Will we keep leaping to even greater technological and scientific breakthroughs that radically change society, or will the rate of progress slow and humanity’s progress be limited to incremental improvements?
I killed a thread for this
I can't say desu, I like to think that we will make new breakthroughs in science and technology though in the future though
How far into the future tho?
20-50 years?
I can't say really
1936
First programmable computer. The Z1 was created by German Konrad Zuse in his parents' living room between 1936 and 1938. It is considered to be the first electro-mechanical binary programmable computer, and the first really functional modern computer.
That was 29,722 days from today.
That was 82 years ago.
Now imagine 82 years from now.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
its pretty dead now as usual
Ye it is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Why did technology progress more slowly in the past than it does now?
really,I thought we made a lot of advancements during the wars or something,I must be remembering wrong
But before modern war
too busy dying from diseases and stuff I guess
If you could go back in time, What technology from today would you bring to the Past?
the internet,if that doesn't count then I would probably bring medicine or something
>I would probably bring medicine
How would that affect the future?
I don't know desu,less dead people I suppose
Should full access to the internet be a fundamental human right?
>ywn live in a cool scifi world
>ywn never get to explore alien planets and drift aimlessly though space in your comfy spaceship
>ywn shitpost with people in a different solar system
>ywn fight interplanetary wars or space battles
unironically give me 1 reason not to kill myself
I'm there with you
yeah but kinda like money or clothes its not free
Why shouldn't the internet be free?
its not a basic human need, maybe a right but not necessary to live
Nothing is ever free! If someone tells you it's free they really mean that you will not notice the price you will pay!
Both fair point
*point's
Later dudes
We will always make progress and it will radically speed up.
A century ago we had no idea how to make basic calculating machines, no you can buy calculators at the supermarket with more processing power than the computers used for the fucking moon landing.
Scientifically, we're progressing faster than ever before.
Politics and economics are a different thing.
We're not unable to send people to the moon or even to Mars.
We're too cheap for that.
Bye bye!
good night
>this will never be your life
why the fuck was I born in this shit tier time period
good point
because
.
I don't know if we will but I definitely believe we should
