Currently taking an EMT course and recently started lifting. So I came to wondering, what are some other Jow Forums approved jobs?
Jow Forums approved jobs
Professional brap sniffer
doin your mom doin doin your mom
USCG rescue swimmer
In the ambo right now, ama
i have no respect for amerlambs. you are the people who keep retards alive who should have exited the gene pool long time ago, contributing in honk honk clown world we live in.
Nurse. End of it
Yeah I agree. But whatever. It's my job and it pays, looks good on a resume too.
How is an EMT a fit job when you sit around all day waiting for a call? The majority of EMT I see are severly overweight (America).
Firefighters, search and rescue thats a different story. Got my Wilderness first responder, swift water rescue, and working on my avalanche safety classes this winter
construction worker
T. wildland or bumfuck nowhere volunteer firefighter
Workout on shift while you wait for call.
Paramedic here, this is absolutely not a Jow Forums job. It's 90% driving old people to hospitals. Most of your coworkers are skinnyfat or actually fat.
>Firefighters, search and rescue thats a different story.
SAR is, but firefighters tend to be the biggest bunch of fat, lazy cunts. The idea they're particularly fit is a huge meme, almost as big as the meme that they actually provide any real valuable service anymore (the number of firefighters who have never fought an active fire is staggering).
If you're able to do this you 'work' somewhere with hysterically low call volume, bless you.
>Firefighters only fighting fires.
Not sure how things are where you’re from, but seeing how they’re first responders they have other uses my dudes.
Paid firefighters are the biggest scam in america. They're making 100k+ in bigger cities and do nothing all day. They literally sleep for half of their "shift" and just work out and play video games the rest of the time.
>Got my Wilderness first responder, swift water rescue, and working on my avalanche safety
based
all going according to plan i'll be a swiftie tech next year
>hey literally sleep for half of their "shift" and just work out and play video games the rest of the time.
Sounds like the dream
Except that they're being paid with our tax dollars. There's no reason we can't have all volunteer fire departments.
Male nurse here. AMA
Prior military? Every male nurse I've ever met has been a GI Bill student.
So are the cunt police officers who shoot our dogs and arrest people for resisting arrest
You must be at least 18 to post on this website.
Nope. I went to an inexpensive state college for the two year associates. Although it’s not really two year since you need about 10 prerequisite courses before entering the program.
>Except that they're being paid with our tax dollars
Yeah, but firefighters are actually useful. Modern police, on the other hand, are nothing more than dogs of the state that protect illegals, antifa, politicians, and other degenerates.
>muh pibbles
Pitbulls deserve to be shot
I wanna be a Nurse. I am American living abroad with only european highschool. What the fuck are prerequisites and can I pay extra to not do them? I can go anywhere as long as is not something shockingly expensive
Is my job Jow Forums approved?
I am a financial advisor who sits at a desk all day long. The firm is a very famous and strict place that wont let me use a standing desk. Everything inside my office is curated and designed around a theme I chose (the theme is deep sea fishing) so I cant put equipment in there. The worst part is that HR come around and checks everyone's offices randomly every week for contraband (they mostly find booze).
What should I do Jow Forums? I don't want to fight with the people who are paying me 6 figures because I cant bring weight equipment into the branch but I don't want to be stuck sitting all day.
>EMT
>novice deadlift
It's a decent job, but it will destroy your back. A lot of people use it to transition into a better careers, or an alternative to fast food/low skill jobs. Quit as soon as possible, before working as a dialysis chauffeur takes you to snap city.
MALE NURSES ANSWER REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Yo I also just started my EMT course, getting back into lifting myself. Where are you located maybe we’re classmates lmao. I’ll tell you that the hurricane almost cancelled my classes temporarily to give you an idea of my location. But yeah bro I’m super excited for this. Just got an A on the first quiz. Got my first clinicals next week.
Its a fit job in that there’s a standard we should all follow in terms of keeping up with our health to best perform the job, but it’s not taken that seriously by many in the field. Many succumb to alcoholism, get fat and depressed. It’s not for everyone. But you have plenty of time to exercise and can easily eat healthy. You can easily meal prep for the week on your 48 hours off and bring healthy shit with you instead of eating fast food. You can easily work out while sitting around or train/study up on your skills and you can do this on your off days. Most don’t want to do this and fall victim to burn out easily. Personally I’m going into fire/paramedics after I’m done getting experience as an EMT.
Faggert
Different male nurse here. No you can’t skip pre requisites. They are classes that prepare you for nursing school, things like anatomy & physiology, microbiology, etc. You can do them at a community college for less cost, but you have to talk to the advisor and make sure the credits for them transfer over to the nursing school you plan to attend.
Can you explain how community college works? I live abroad and don't know the education system well enough. I wanna do a 2 year ADN with shitty euro grades, where do I start?
>most of your coworkers are skinnyfat or actually fat
Yeah bro that’s why when I’m hoping on cycle when I finish up my EMT training. So when I hand over patients to the hospital I’ll mog my coworkers and pull cute nurse pussy easily. I’m already 6’2” and the nursing students mire when I walk by them
>tfw SSM
kill me
Pretty sure you need to do a four year degree to become a "real" nurse aka an RN. You will need to do some time taking prerequisites (basic math, science English etc) then you can apply for a nursing program. If you want you can do prereqs at a community college but if you have money and are young you should go to a real university because there are more opportunities and it's much more fun.
Also you need to stop getting shit grades once you're in college because at least at my school, the nursing program is somewhat selective.
No, did my research. You can be a RN with a 2 year associates degree, you can take your NCLEX and everything then the place you are working for will give you a free BSN bridge program
I think I need more info. I still don't get the prerequisites stuff, can a nurse explain this for autistic retards like me? Me have EU highschool, me want to do a 2 year ASN, me don't want to do extra work, me willing to pay money as long as is not retardedly high amounts of it, me no want 4 year BSN, me want 2 do bridge program later
That's the plan.
>then the place you are working for will give you a free BSN bridge program
Hahahhaahahahahahahahaahahaha
OP here, located in Idaho sadly
t. not a nurse
Maybe in bulgaria or whatever shitty country you're from you can be an RN with a 2 year degree, but not in America.
I hate just how retarded you are, pisses me off. If you ever google it, please neck yourself afterwards
You can be an RN with an associates. Employers prefer bachelors, but associates is all that’s required.
t. nurse
Resident doctor here
can you redpill me on community college? what do? american with euro highschool :(
Is it hard to get in? Do I have to waste a year with prerequisites making it a 3 year degree? recommended state to study?
You can get the title of RN but you'll struggle to find a workplace that hires people without four year degrees.
I think you need to adjust your attitude bro. You don't really know what you're talking about but you become hostile when someone offers advice. You also seem to have the entitled opinion that you can pay to get a degree rather than doing the work. That's just not how education works here. If you fix your outlook you might have a brighter future. Good luck!
>eurotrash upset at something
go lose another world war
cringe and bluepilled
Community college is like high school for adults. You pretty much just need a pulse to get accepted.
Associates Nursing programs are not hard to get into but they are very popular so wait times can take up to two years. My sister was on a wait list for 2 years.
You will need multiple pre-requisite classes, which can take a year to complete. You are looking at potentially 3 years before even starting the program. The associates nursing program is usually 2 years to finish. So potentially 5 years before you finish nursing school depending on how competitive it is.
I'm an EMT, and I am one of the only guys in the ambulance bay who doesn't have a gut hanging over his belt.
It's only a "fit job" if you make it one. Make your meals ahead of time. Resist the urge to live off of gas station food.
So based, thanks. Where can I find more info on specific colleges? Is there any state with short/no waiting lists? Any info is good
Male stripper
Fuck that dude. Grinding on fat roasties and old ladies trying to make with you is all you’re going to get. And it’s humiliating
Be warned that many ambulance agencies don't want EMT's or EMT's with no experience and really only care about paramedics, Depending on your job market you can be trapped in non emergency transport (hauling old faggots to their dialysis and granny to the nursing home) I lucked out and got an ER tech job which is probably the best you can get with an EMT basic.
being a low paid emt cuck is not a fit approved job.
It is tho, on this threads everyone says either medical fag, nurse fag, or emt fag
>2019
>Not wanting to sniff fat roasties putrid brapper
ngmi
but wildland is based, user
based end the coombrain propaganda
Yeah AEMT here, my agency (hospital based) picked me up cus I was experienced and trained me up to this next level because we all have critical care paramedic partners. We also are in charge of all SAR and cover an enormous semi-rural, partially high populated area. Every coworker of mine is fit and incredibly professional as well, but all the firefighters are shithead cunt volunteers that cant do shit. I got lucky but new EMTs shouldn't expect to get to a spot like mine desu. After taking your NREMT you need like minimum 2 years full time riding on a 911 rig to be useful
I volunteer as an EMT with the local fire department. I like my full time job and don't really see the need to go full paramedic, but the paras I know are pretty based.
Literally 90% of my calls are 'old woman fell down and went boom' and needs help getting back into bed, though. And it feels pretty shit when you know full well the patient has no insurance and is probably going to be paying off the ambulance ride for a couple years, but such is life in the Zone.
Male RN here.
>18 month associate of science in nursing degree from medium sized state college.
>requires 10 prereqs to get in, including bio, microbio, AP1, AP2, etc
>way more applicants than available spots so you basically have to get all A’s.
>I got all A’s.
>nursing school was total clusterfuck but that is all nursing schools. This is because it’s run by nurses not by real teachers. Nurses don’t make good teachers most of the time especially the ones who choose to take a pay cut to teach.
>otherwise it was worth it, because the job is pretty great. I work 3 twelve hour shifts a week which means I can get mad overtime if I want to make extra cash.
>AMA
air traffic control/pilot
does EMT experience during college look good on a resume?
where would be easier to get into a college? how do those prerequisites work? are they the same everywhere? where would I have an easier time getting in and getting the degree in general? How much did you make your 1st year vs now? Specialty? Do you see a lot of shit/blood/piss?
depends on what career you want
accounting
not really but it shows you have work experience, but if you accounting at a medical firm it help increase your chances
That job sucks. I did it for a long time before finally wising up and getting a job that pays a real salary. It also does a ton of damage to your health long term. Working 24-48 hour shifts with constant interrupted sleep to take some dumb ass to the hospital for a tummy ache isn’t really good for your recovery gains.
Good luck getting on a real fire department in less than 5 years that pays well. It’s extremely competitive.
Wrong, municipal firefighters are generally held to much higher standards and receive higher quality training, gear and pay. They also get to participate in the same roles as wildland firefighters if assigned while maintaining a year round position whereas wildland firefighters are usually laid off at the end of a fire season.
Jow Forums approved jobs are jobs where you have free time to actually work out and cultivate your body (and mind).
neetbux
male nurse
not really though, if you want someone fit in medical field it would be orthopedic surgeon. Majority of them are strong and smart as fuck
...
Fit trades:
Ironworker
Carpenter.
Pipefitter This and above are obvious. Plus you have high chances of moving higher up
HVAC/Refrigeration - just based trade
Flat roofer- you do sweet fuck all in the winter, so save up and enjoy it. Summer you have all the conditions to stay lean/burn pound and pounds of fat
Office tier:
- network administrator
- DBA
Comms with gains goblins and jealous amoebic coworkers are limited to zero.
Others
Firefighter, law enforcement, dental tech
Being a NEET is a dead end, it's fine for a while but if you're still a NEET by late 20s you should be truly worried.
No reason to stay at the ambo for longer than 3-6 months. The past is nonexistent at least were I was at.
Different user, but that's what I did
Fuck nursing though, too many petty bitches you have to "work" with, and I hate changing diapers
Currently a respiratory therapist and life is much better
You can make a lot more as a radiation therapist (up to 90k), I think it's still a 2 year degree.
MRI techs at my hospital are making around 80k a year. You get your associates as a radiology tech, and then do an extra year of schooling for the MRI program
Respiratory is a good 2 year degree. I'm making around 65k a year, and don't have to deal with other medical professionals. I just make rounds through the hospital checking on patients and ventilators. Will be going back to school soon to become a PA.
I'd stay away from nursing unless you want to become a nurse anesthetist, or nurse practitioner (masters degrees)
I just want great job security, money and a 3 day work week. Do I get that as a RT? Usually most people who end up doing low tier medical stuff regret not being a nurse
Also nurse anesthetist sounds like a dream but I don't know how well I can deal with blood and whatnot yet so I can't really say what I like
>I just want great job security, money and a 3 day work week. Do I get that as a RT?
Yes.
>Usually most people who end up doing low tier medical stuff regret not being a nurse
I've previously worked as a combat medic (EMT) and LPN. RT is nice job. I make the same money (65k without overtime) as registered nurses at my hospital. The only problem is that there aren't many areas for advancement, such as RN becoming CRNA. But between my job and VA disability I make 90k a year so I don't give a fuck.
>but I don't know how well I can deal with blood and whatnot yet so I can't really say what I like
LPNs and RNs deal with blood and poop. CRNAs and NPs don't
>90k a year
Pretty fucking based bro
I will look into it but I think I'm still leaning more towards RN because there are like a million specialties and I could basically end up doing just office work if I ever got burnt out. Is it reasonable to expect finding a community college without a huge waiting list for nursing?
only a little while before you let them die kek
No original user but in the process of getting my BSN there are tons of programs out there most require A&P some science, courses, stats, and CNA certification. Look at some programs in your area or where you want to live they are everywhere should take you 3-4 yearsish
they’re both white and the one guy is holding the rock while the other guy bites it
Pilot here. If you can get past the sitting for hours at a time, its not bad. I currently make 10k/mo and work ten days on tend days off. Plenty of free time to lift, and theres always hotel gyms when im on the road. Also no degree required. I literally only have a high school diploma.
Also a pilot. Are you at a legacy?
RN is still a great option, there are a ton of specialties that will pay more like you said.
>Is it reasonable to expect finding a community college without a huge waiting list for nursing?
Most community colleges will have LPN programs, but may not have RN
I became a LPN in the army so I'm not sure about the waiting lists
Good luck user
Why are u in a ambulance
nope, corporate
I've heard that's really hit or miss. I'm mil and have a few years left, but I'm trying to figure out my future options.
>4 years
That sounds pretty bad. Are you sure there's no way of getting it done in under 3 years? I will look into it seriously around April but I wanna know what expectations I should have. Waiting so much feels lile wasting time. Did you find nursing school hard/liked it? Is the job based?
Thanks user, good luck to you as well
Sup fellow mil pilot. How long you got left?
6 years. I got stuck in FAIP land.
Programmer. Work from home + home gym, you'll never need to see the sunlight again and still lift while making big money. It's Jow Forums goal life.
holy shit shut the fuck up with your endless questions
What about art modeling for schools and colleges? As long as you have a good physique you should get good work.
It can be. Great corporate jobs are great. The bad ones are horrible. Most military guys go to the airlines because they're pretty much automatically hired, but these days they're hiring anyone with a pulse and enough time.
The airlines definitely have a higher earning potential compared to the corporate world, but thats too much flying for me. I'm a lazy fuck and would rather fly 200 hours a year and make less money than bust my ass and fly close to 1000.
no? why? would? I? do? that? faggot?
Everyone talks about bailing to the airlines but I don't know how many actually do. Pulling Gs is fun but I think I could get used to the civilian lifestyle.
Check out some private military companies. Constellis, Academi (Blackwater), and Triple Canopy are solid. Made half a million in 2 years chilling in South America. I assume you have a top secret security clearance, and these companies need more aviation guys. It's an easy way to make a lot of money before you get fat and go full civilian
