Why do so many intelligent people not see how beneficial it is to be fit? I get compliments from literally everyone in my department constantly, and yet nobody else spends the time to go to the gym consistently. I don't get it. Maybe I should help them by inviting them to the gym? Could I do that without appearing condescending?

I have worked in mathematics for nearly a decade and I have never met anyone who is even remotely close to something I would describe as "literal genius". Stop being a brainlet.

that leaves an ambiguity, as most of the time you're interested in the integral between a function and the delta; the infinity has to be of "a specific size" to result in evaluating the function at a point.
The graph doesn't really illustrate anything about the distribution. But if you "integrated" that graph multiplied by an actual function it would return the value of the function at zero.
actual answer to op's question is that people who've reached the end of the academic bell curve have based a large extent of their identity on how 'smart' they are.

Sometimes nonsense is being spouted in applied physics or engineering that Dirac delta is some sort of function that is zero everywhere except at the origin, and its "integral" is equal to one. Sayings like this have absolutely no mathematical meaning and there is no theory of integration that encompasses integrating things like a Dirac delta.
For a guy working in PDEs the Dirac delta is usually just a distribution, for a functional analyst it might be a functional on the space of continuous functions, for a guy in potential theory it might be a measure with unit point mass at the origin.

Leaving afterwards for industry, the plan is to Post-Doc in Medical Physics. I agree the University system is trash, but your earning potential with a PhD is better than a masters, and in my case won't take much longer.

I'd say that's a good average, knowing also the fact that almost all great physcis were really good at sports and it also trains your brain more

I think when it comes to girls’ attraction and education there’s some parallel between grad school and any STEM degree. Many guys pursue a degree in these subjects because their parents made them think that getting such a degree and then a respectable job is the way to be successful in life (and to get a good women eventually). It was the case with me and many of my peers, I literally thought that getting an Eng degree from a good school will make my life trouble less. It was most certainly true for boomers. That’s how most of our dads got their wives - by working hard. I think that it’s not the case these days tho broskis. If you’re super rich then sure you’ll be slaying pussy like no generation in history before but if you just finished an (arguably) hard STEM degree and got a good job then, well, welcome to the ‘still invisible for women’ club. I know that it’s a hard pill to swallow but I really don’t think being an engineer, an architect, a doctor or an academic leverages you anyhow among young women.
