what the hell
dude if you want AESTHETIXXX just
>pull/chin ups, then progress to weighted
>leg press/ front squat
>incline bench/ ohp
its not hard
Dude almost none are a (((meme))) just do SOMETHING and stay consistent, then you will start to see results
But you will need to kill all jews in a 10mile radius before you proceed
a thousand fitizens will tell you a thousand different things. the important thing is that you're working all the major muscle groups. doesn't matter if you work your chest by bench press or by rolling a boulder up a hill.
that being said, I made my own routine by searching for exercises on bodybuilding.com. I filtered each major muscle group individually, looked at the top rated exercises for each muscle, then tried a few of them myself until I found one that I really liked. from that testing phase, I compiled my routine.
alternatively, this user is right. any of the well known routines will net you results. like I said, as long as you're working those muscles SAFELY, any routine/exercise will do.
Literally this.
just lift heavy shit and don't overthink it
Truth is everything is a meme, everything
It doesn't matter, stop being an autist. Pick something, anything, and stick with it. If you want to be bigger, eat more, if you want to be smaller eat less. Sleep a lot either way. The only thing I can say is, strenght based programs like SS and SL are not the best for aesthetics. SS will not make you look good.
This, SS and SL are good for getting strong, and honestly will form a solid foundation, but just choose something a stick with it, not like you will be aesthetic any time soon if you are starting out
Not getting a pullup bar and 2 handles for handstand/L-sit
ngmi
Just do SS for the recommended time (3 months IIRC read the book) and branch out from there. If you've never lifted before, you're weak and need to be a little bit less weak before deciding what you actually want out of the gym.
I just started Starting Strength its good faggot. My deadlifts, squats, and bench are all coming up as I was told they would (big jumps every work day so far). I really really really hate overheard pressing though. I have weak everything (duh) but my overhead press is straight up deficient even with only the bar. Seems like a shitty move to suggest for beginners but w/e I think I'll be able to do them fine Wednesday. The only issues I've heard of with this program is a lack of back excercize but I've also heard it has too much deadlifting in it. Sounds like sad faggot problems though Im liking the deadlifts.
If I'm doing SS when underweight and not really progressing on any lifts even early on, I still need to basically just eat more right? At the moment I'm basically feeling full/bloated constantly uncomfortable and forcing every single meal so I don't think I can really add anymore.
How are you faggots struggling with OHP, maybe I haven't hit a wall with that yet since I'm doing SL5x5 and moving up incrementally, but I haven't felt like it was a problem for me.
Squats on the other hand, fuck me absolutely sideways, I hate them. I was so fucking weak in the legs (I guess I still are) that I had problems with just the barbell itself, and today I couldn't do 5x5 on a bitch-tier 37,5kg squat weight, fucked up and only did 4 sets. Not to mention the occassional pain in the shin when outside the gym.
I would suggest you to let multiple people check your form, otherwise the weakness will go away with time. You could (and should) try to do some unilateral leg work, it will hit your quads more directly than the squat and improve it significantly (in case quads are what's weak, otherwise do accessories for the muscle group that's holding you back ATM)
The secret is it doesn't matter much what starting routine you pick. Your going to either add to it or switch entirely in time, but you need something to get you started.
Reading is good if you're also moving, but if you're stuck in research mode and waiting to start until you have everything figured out you're missing the point. You're going to answer some of your questions just through experience, and come up with others you wouldn't have thought to ask.
Yes force feed and drink water like mad
Not the original poster, but does anyone have a good guide for eating to gain weight? I've been doing SS for about 2months but I don't think I'm eating enough
>1-1.5g protien / lbs bodyweight
>300-500 Calories over TDEE
Read the sticky
lol working out is a meme
I jerk off 5 times a day, minimum and it keeps me fit af
Spend 5 minutes on those forums and you'll see the "experts" that post there
>hey guys I'm an intermediate what PPL can you recommend? I want to train for hypertrophy.
>my lifts? 135lb bench for 2....
Or my favorite
>I've been doing clapping, medicine ball jumps with a weight vest on and in 3 months I put 20 lbs on my squat!!!
Do SL 5x5 for a long time so you are strong enough to train hypertrophy programs really heavy. This will let you get bigger.
it's 1 - 1.5 per KG GODDAMN IT. THEY ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE.
This is it
This desu bro. Find any program and do it. You can make any program either strength, hypertrophy or both once you are a little more educated. SL 5x5 is an awesome start. Just add in some accessories for upper body.
If you just follow the template of SS the lack of direct arm Training will leave them atrophied compared to your legs which will blow up because of the weekly volume. Your back will hunch forward because you skipped all rear felt exercises. You will have no lats since you thought you might as well skip them when you're out to fuck up your rotator cuffs. Causing your upper body to look small. The deadlift is super stupid. On one hand deadlifting super high like that will tax your nervous system very hard. On the other there is not enough volume leading to your hamstrings to be underdeveloped compared to the insane quads you're now flaunting. Since you wanted all your beginner gains to come as fast as possible you WENTMAD and pumped down your morning oats with liters of whole milk. Leaving you to also be fat and as far away from a six pack as possible.
Go on r/fitness and search for centaur. You will find a guy that did exactly this. He is the antithesis of aesthetic. Most people start lifting because they want to look good. Amassing leg muscles while neglecting the upper body is not the way to do this.
It's a meme because noone reads The Lord of Milk's book. In which he talks about ALL of those things that could become an issue.
All the idiots Jow Forums and misc have baited into doing SS+GOMAD had to actually invest time into trying to fix themselves but did not learn from their mistakes and just spout the nonsense that SS is a bad routine.
Also SL is the same fucking thing as SS just more reps which will let you stall sooner than you want.not fulfilling the purpose of a strength routine and also failing as a Volume oriented one.
Read the book properly. Do SS how rippletits tells you to. When you stall switch to a hypertrophy routine which should be in around three months.
