Rate my new ride. 05 GT with 90k miles. $8,000.

Could got one a bit cheaper but the low miles was appealing.

Just buy a brand new mustang and pay $700 per month

I specifically wanted to avoid that. Always had a soft spot for the S197.

>dude just spend most people's rent payment on your car

nice

>90k
>Low miles
Da fug did I miss?

It's 15 years old bruh. That's like 6k/year. Practically little old lady tier.

>most people's rent payment
I fucking wish.
Try triple that in the Bay Area.

buying cars new is the worst possible thing you could do. It's paying a premium for a depreciating asset. The only thing worse is marriage.

Then don't live in the bay area.

>$700
>rent

where the FUCK do you live

one thing i do envy about you muricans are cars, goddam our yuropoor cars besides the old M2-3 90s bmw and some audis lack the soul, besides them being expensive as fuck

Oh shid you might be onto something user.
I was going to just kys myself but now you've given me hope.

>buying a shitty car with shit tier view and shit gas mileage you'll have to pay a premium to fix later
gratz dude

literally any car you purchase from any year is a bad investment. lmfao

not if you buy a new car

yes, especially if you buy a new car....bruh

New Hampshire

Then why go for the worst of the batch? At least get something that is
>reliable
>good view
>plenty of space
>good gas mileage
>isn't already close to 100k fucking miles

my 2013 corolla I bought at 30k miles only has 70k miles on it and it's still worth 7k-8k

>dude pay extra for something that will lose minimum several thousand dollars value when it leaves the dealership parking lot

>herp derp

for 8k thats solid, if its manual even better

oh no, pay triple that, but you're making 250k a year as a software engineer. poor baby, life must be so hard im sure youre barely scraping by.

mechanic here,

just make sure the tranny is good. Mustangs have this one problem where the tranny is bad. Other than that you will be okay. INB4 overdrive on the highway

you'll be okay im jk about the overdrive

Not him, but even in relatively metropolitan areas of Kentucky, $700 would get you at least a half respectable one-bedroom apartment.

Well now, there's no need to rule anything out.

lmao try 550 in Ohio lmao

More like it’s $90K to be a useless codemonkey and that $2100 for rent is going towards a 4 bedroom 1 bath unit with three weirdos also living there. Oh, and that $90K also gets taxed to shit, AND you’re paying 2-300% more basic necessities than you would elsewhere. There is nothing glamorous about being a software engineer in San Francisco unless you are in the top 5% of engineers

>Kentucky

Yeah I’m good

Good on you OP. I daily an NA Miata with 175K on the clock, no issues besides an oil seep which was an easy fix. Change all your fluids, spark plugs, and spray the undercoating with rustoleum. Be sure to hit it with some vinegar, or other method to remove the surface rust first. Be diligent of looking at vacuum lines, and it'll last forever, those engines were pretty solid, hope it's the manual. Godspeed.

Wrong board

Don't be poor and buy a Tesla

I want one but comparing the 2012 models to now is night and day, so I'm waiting till my car shits itself before I buy. By then Teslas should average 600 miles.

The second I stop being poor and I'm able to afford a garage, insurance and the car payments I'm biting the bullet. I feel retarded when I realize I've spent 30 minutes on YouTube watching some random retard drive it

Is it a manual? If automatic then you just bought a mediocre car that looks decent

Teslas are gay lol

I can afford all of those but fuck me they are still expensive. I do love them tho.

Fuck off, Shekelberg.

90k will still be a decent amount of money to live comfortably if you are not retarded even in San Francisco. Rent is like under 4k which still leaves you with enough money to live relatively decently, you can just get a gf or a roommate and you basically double the amount of money you have. I don't get why everyone on this board always talks like unless you are making 300k a year you are a poorfag. If you live alone and make over 60k anywhere you are good bro, keep it up lol

Yeah, but you have to drive a Corolla. Not everyone wants the most boring car in the world. It's a fine car, but nobody gets excited to jump in the Corolla and take it for a spin.... Well, maybe accountants.

That's actually a bad thing. When you drive a car lightly for so long, shit goes fucked when you actually drive it normally
T. Mechanic who often fixes little old lady cars

You aren't bringing home 90k though. Until the recent tax cuts, you would be taking home 65 to 70k, then you get buckle and dimed to death. High sales taxes, utility prices, parking, parking tickets, car insurance, vehicle registration fees, consumer goods prices.... It adds up fast.

Unless your car is actually really fucking nice or unique no one gives a shit
no one cares about an 05 GT, they're generic as fuck.

Now I got a buddy with solid racing tires in a old ass car gutted to hell and guzzles gallons per fucking mile, sure, that's pretty cool even if I think it's a waste of money. But no one gets excited over an 05 GT.

I unironcally think my shit ass car looks better.

I agree with this user.
Modern cars are soulless. They are all plastic and shitty.

Life is meant to be lived, not just survived as cheaply as possible.

this
buy a lambo or fuck off and walk retard

Ayyy man I drive a 98 Mark Viii. Its like a mustang but not gay and super comfy.

Genuinely had to check my url to make sure I wasn't on /o/.

Lmfao this is some bs.

It isn't. Grandma cars are always the first to die when some young dude buys one who drives way more than grandma does.

3rd generation 4runner is the most fit vehicle

>reliable base like your lifts and body
>can be modded to an insane degree if you want to invest some time and work, you can do this without help just like lifting
>looks cool even though its not expensive (like being jacked and poor fucking the wives of rich fat dudes)
>can actually offroad and tow to back up its appearance instead of just spending tens of thousands extra to drive slightly faster (if theres no idiots or cops on the road lol) to mcdonalds in car that looks like basically everyone elses
>enough room to sleep in the back so you can live at the gym or have an orgy
>if you put in the effort you can keep it running well forever like a healthy body

you did, but op didn't

That's a starter mortgage in the rurall Midwest

Not if you're a decent mechanic
Especially if you play the classic collector/auction market.

Are you retarded or pretending?
Finance wise a new car is one of the worst investments you can make.
The first year depreciation alone is brutal.

He is completely correct however.

Kentucky is based

FUCK YOU I PAY $450 IN TEXAS

Based and stickpilled.

>bought a mediocre car that looks decent
That's all that matters in the end, holy shit how delusional are you?

You overpaid by about $2k
