Meds

Any of you guys here on medication for either depression, anxiety, ADHD, ect...?

Is it harder for you to make gains?

Wellbutrin seemed to be a slight aid to gainz, but I haven't been taking it. Bad for sleep and coffee does the same thing better

I use phenibut twice weekly for anxiety.

Adderall 30 mg; it makes me sweat like a whore in church, but It gives me laser like focus in the gym, and kills my appetite.
I take the weekends off, and I feel much more creative and whimsical. But I don't get anything done.

Enjoy your life ruining addiction lmao.

been on zoloft like 2 weeks
they don't effect gains at physical level, but perhaps it can negatively impact motivation on some people.

for me, I've seen positive benefits with my anxiety but I'm hoping they increase with time as I'm still quite anxious. Prescribed for Panic Disorder

Same, But tend to get ocassional migraines and insomnia.

Lifting isn't taking the pain away anymore, so I've been thinking about seeing a therapist for my problems. I'm back in school so I might see just see the one we have on campus. If I tell them that I've been having thoughts of killing myself, will the put me on a list or just give me meds to calm down? I'm hoping I can get meds. I'm just tired of all this shit.

you won't get put on a list, there is a patient / doctor confidentiality that also applies to therapists. If they think you are an IMMEDIATE danger to yourself, then they might call someone.

so, if you don't want that happening you just tell them nonchalantly "yeah, i've had some suicidal thoughts lately"

your doctor will prescribe you meds for it and your therapist will help you work through it. godspeed

No. I'd take Adderall if it was prescribed in my country.
I'd also take SSRIs if I wasn't afraid I'd kill someone (or myself) on them, and I'd take anxiolytics like Xanax if I wasn't so sure I'd get hooked on them and become a junkie.

Anxiety/depression is probably my biggest gains goblin.

Unless you tell them you have a specific plan to kill yourself and intend on doing it, they can't do anything.

They're the only thing that allows me to function so I don't really have a choice. Remeron will make you gain weight if you don't drink a lot of water at night to control your appetite.

>I'm just tired of all this shit.
Based

>will make you gain weight

Well summer is over and fall/winter is coming so I guess that will help during bulking season.

Prozac 20mg
Xanax 0.5mg (I’ll only take 0.5-1mg).

Do SSRI’s affect Testosterone? Or gains? Im really needing antidepressants and scared to fuck up my body/hormones

I inhereted a fucked up stomach from my grandparents. Basically it is extremely easy for me to throw up, to the point that I get sick and nauseated when i'm nervous, but only sometimes because I've learned to manage it very well throughout the years. The biggest drawback is that i'm yet to be able to date a girl because of it. The type of nerves that act up on a date will definitely cause me to get sick, but i've come so far that people don't even know I have an issue. Anyway, I take a phenergen pill sometimes when I have to do something nerve racking and it allows me to breeze through it.

Most modern SSRIs have very minimal side effects. I took prozac for a few months and it would reduce my sex drive and motivation but it won't affect your body or your gains if you stay consistent with your diet/routine.

Wouldn’t mind being prescribed adderall or Wellbutrin, not really sure if it’s something I need though.

Wouldn’t fuck with SSRIs. From what I’ve read online, from talking to friends who’ve taken them, and from my elementary understanding about what they do the brain, it doesn’t seem worth it unless you have a really severe depression caused by a chemical imbalance that just so happens to be offset by an antidepressant, but good luck finding the right one.

Taking prescription drugs everyday will fuck with the chemicals in your brain though, sometimes irreversibly. A damaged brain is the ultimate gains goblin.

All three, actually. But regular ADD, not ADHD.
>Is it harder for you to make gains?
If I take my ADD meds they make it harder to do cardio because my heart rate is already elevated, especially with Vyvance, but I'm able to do more sets when lifting. I prefer not to take them if I'm not working or going to class that day. As for the antidepressants, Zoloft works wonders for actually helping me get out of the house and into the gym instead of lying in bed all day. And taking Trazodone (a different antidepressant) at night has pretty much completely gotten rid of my insomnia so I'm more focused and have more energy during the day.

Been in the Army for 12 years and their solution to everything is medication.

Daily:
-30 mg Adderall XR
-20 mg Adderall IR
- 150mg Effexor
- Lipitor
- 300mg metformin (which is supposed to be awesome for aging)
- 100mg testosterone a week but my doc can’t count so I do 200mg

I’m still a pretty lazy dude but for the first 5 hours at work I am a god. Been promoted early and have really good evaluations. Mainly thanks to the addies. Effexor because I get stressed easily because I’m a high performer and don’t like not-excelling.
