I've literally never been a NEET in my life, and all my jobs have involved teamwork in some way. I've been surrounded by all kinds of people in all kinds of settings. I'm starting to think I have aspergers. I've generally struggled a lot with social skills and interpersonal relationships throughout my life, and tend to over-analyze and criticize my actions on the basis of being socially inept (to the point where it's honestly kind of debilitating and strange - I'll exclaim "ooh!" or "ah!" or make some sort of physical gesture/exclamation when thinking on this, sometimes even when other people are present).

Recently I was with my mom, who I hadn't seen for a while, and we decided to go shopping. It was some faggy little store downtown that was crammed with people. I suppose you could call it sensory overload, but I felt very very hot and overwhelmed and suddenly stormed out in tears for no particular reason.

With my experience with it, (i don't have it, my brother does, i have been tested), NO YOU DO NOT.
People with aspergers typically lack self awareness and would blame everyone else for their social interactions, they often interact with the sole purpose of the conversation revolving around themselves even though there is 5 people in the conversation, these people can show signs of not being interested in the conversation such as reserved body language or not taking part in the dialog, the will not recognize this or simply ignore this because they want to talk about themselves

The storming out of a shop like that is more associated with aspergers that is further down the spectrum and more severe.

I would associate your symptoms with social anxiety, over thinking social interactions and getting nervous in crowed situations would probably indicate that.

Right, but is it possible that symptoms of aspergers can manifest in different ways? From my understanding the only real baseline is impaired social interaction. Can't this be presented as something akin to your brother's behavior, or on the other end, something similar to what the other anons have shared? In my experience in working with autistic children they all had varying degrees of autism but behaved differently - some were near mute, had no interest in talking, etc. whereas others would blurt out every single thought that came to mind and have no respect for physical/social boundaries.
