Any of you guys have experience lifting in an apartment?
Can I put something like this on a door frame or will I get fucked for it?

You may need to put something to protect the plaster around the door frame. But they work fine
Depends.
Some door frames are weak as shit and break with a pull up bar, others are really sturdy. I have both types in my house, and ripped out door fram molding in the shitty door because of putting apull up bar in it.
When I removed the bar, there was some indent at there it hung as well it left some black marks so I bought a free standing one off of amazon.
Maybe it be best to put it in the basement if you're worried about marks.
I love my door frame pull up bar. Door frames are strong; that's why you're supposed to stand under them in an earthquake. You have to hold your legs up, but otherwise they're great. Also you get way more pullups done. Feeling joocy after your morning cuppa but not going to the gym today? Knock out a cheeky 10, your back day won't mind. Before you know it you're sneaking in pullups all the time and your back is godly
half of my apartment gym. gonna go workout but i can answer questions about apartment gyms you miht have???
Your pic related was the cause of a shattered right ankle for me. I have 4 screws and a plate in my ankle because my door frame pull-up bar fell and I didn’t land right. All my weight dropped on my ankle and FUCKED it up. The only pull up bars I use now are fastened into the frame with screws.
fuk. yeah my nephew fell off mine and he at least wasn't hurt.
I definitely prefer when they're screwed into the frame
total sq ft? That's a huge setup, just wondering how much it takes up
are you on the second floor
i would get this but im a level above other people and they probably wouldnt like 3pl8+ deads above them lmao
Yeah it fucks up my doorway but who cares. It's very convinient to pump out pullups every day at home
and what would that be? i would just go sign up for a public gym but i really don't want to have to be in a situation where i have to wait for a squat rack or free weights. my area has not a lot of options concerning a bigger gym
How much time do you diddy anyways? Once maybe twice a week 15 minutes? Who gives a fuck
Based indoor homegym
how much did the rack itself cost you
probably not much looks like a piece of shit
I have that exact bar and put two towels to protect the door frame. It still dings it but it's hardly noticeable.
I got the grey one with high bars for comfortable hang space
not sure what a foot is but 87m^2 is my apartment. that room is only like i think 3-4m^2. basically i have about 1m total free on either side of the bar and less than that back and front. just enough room. to squeeze in the rack and be able to move the bar for OHP
2nd floor. padding + controlled descent i have 2cm mats but i dont deadlift for weight more for volume so im alwys in control of the bar. ego lifting a DL on the 2nd floor is probably bad though
alright so as OP I decided to just buy one of those pullup/dip stations and some kettlebells
the gyms in my area are shit so I'm just going to do weighted dips and pullups instead of deadlifts and benching, hopefully the gains goblins will go easy on me
Poorfag here, this works and doesnt damage anything, small apartment cant fit a rack so i just do pull ups and dumbells for reps
What does Jow Forums think about these? Want to buy one since its getting colder to train in the park.
pretty huge and expensive for something you can only do dips with + pullups. like half the price of jsut getting a half-rack with a dip station and pullup attachment. seems wiser to just go all in than get a glorified set of parallel bars
I thought of getting one that has the bar at the same side as the dip so it will occupy only a corner of my room.
how heavy are you? I 180 pounds, shitty apartement, door frames no problem
this bitch
Do push-ups
I personally don't like these parallel bars with pads and handles. They are made with a particular variation of leg raises in mind, and everything else goes out of the window.
I put one of these on my door frame and it fucked up the walls around it. Also, I found that being able to do 7 reps on one of these translated over to absolutely 0 reps on a bar in the actual gym. Shittier ROM I'm assuming due to my height
His neighbors I'd assume. Mine bitch if I jump out of bed too loudly. Assholes
Elaborate, which kind would define as better for other moves and what are thoses ?
Wait, you dropped off the bar and shattered your shit? Mr.Glass is your future.
Just normal parallel bars are better. Chances are some nearby park has them. With those you can do straight bar dips, Russian dips, lsits, levers, stuff like that.
Supposedly there exist portable versions like in pic, but I'm not sure how practical those are. Then there exist those big parallelets that are suitable for most stuff except straight bar and Russian dips.
