It's nice but don't overdo it. It's got antimicrobial properties, meaning it will fuck up your gut bacteria. It's good if you have to sustain yourself with shitty, disease ridden meat but if the meat is from a healthy animal, adding capsaicin will only be a detriment

Spicy is a cop out for actual cooking skills. For those who cannot work with flavor, they throw in spicy seasonings and shame you. Very weak. Real men can bring out the bold and savory flavors of their food, retain nutrients, and not have to say a word as great food sells itself.

You're confusing spicy (hot sensation) with spices (all other flavors, herbs, seasonings). Hot peppers were a very small part of the spice trade. Of course they did still procure them - I myself eat hot spices in certain dishes but I don't smother all my food with it. He is correct in that smothering food with hot spicy flavors is a cop out for shit food and poor cooking/seasoning skills. The last thing I would ever do to a perfectly cooked and seasoned chunk of meat is put hot sauce on it. It ruins all the other flavors. I was raised by 2 chefs, I've tried thousands of dishes from different cultures. I've got more experience and cook better than any woman I've met and I already have a high heat tolerance and regularly cook/eat hot dishes, especially when I have friends that like hot dishes. I had an African gf at one point that ate extremely hot curry on rice all the time and wanted me to make all her food absurdly hot when I cooked - she's the one I learned the plebby spicetard mindset from because she couldn't appreciate good, well-cooked, well-seasoned food without dumping in peppers/sauce (she also developed gastrointestinal problems from this and her doctor told her to cut back). I personally LOVE spicy food, but I hate people who just dump chili on everything because they think it makes them cool or something. There's a time and a place for it, and being able to cook hot food while still ensuring it has a flavour beyond just "hot" is an art unto itself.

Everyone who doesn't like spicy food claims it's just a way to make everything taste the same because all you can taste is the spiciness. It's just completely wrong. The spiciness gives the food a spicy sensation and most of the actual taste of it is after you have first tasted the food itself.

With regards to their health value, they're great for a lot of things. A lot of them have anti-biotic properties, both hot spices along with ones like sage and thyme. Rosemary and surprisingly hot ones like cayenne pepper are anti-inflammatory and can relieve pain. When I have a sore throat, I make a gargle or a tea with rosemary or cayenne pepper and if it's from a cold or flu, I'll add thyme or sage. Turmeric is good for a lot of things, particularly the liver and arteries.
As for their culinary value, I think they have their place. A perfectly cooked steak with hot sauce poured all over it is an abomination, but Gaeng Daeng should make my mouth burn a little.

The sauce is fermented, so even if the alleged phytoestrogens in soj do have any effect, they're mostly neutralized.
