You're actually right. Just started doing abs for the first time last month. Somone told me squats and deadlifts are the only thing you need to do for your abs, clearly they're wrong. This month I've gone from being able to do a 30 second planks to being able to do 1:40.

make sure you are actually going the plank in correct form otherwise youre wasting time planking with your sagging ass
I do planks super consistently and have started to notice definition in abs, but im not sure if this is due to planks or my other core stuff.

Planks are a great full body activation warmup, at the very least. If you want to increase difficulty do them in the sun, make sure you're tucking the ol' tailbone(but not too much.) ribs are expanding with your breath and alternate between hands and elbows.
Agreed. Planning on continuing to bulk up to 240, then cut back to 215 or so. It'll be nice to have a little something to cut down to.
