Secondly. Start with knee rises untill you can do leg rises. Best abs exercise (or at least it is all I did). You dont need more. Most compounds work out abs anyway. I have bad ab genetics and wide af core and still made it decent.
Thirdly. Lower body fat while lifting.

I really have no rule for this. I do between 2 and 5 sets, as many reps as i can until it hurts too muh to continue. Also from 3 to 6 times a week. What is important is that you have good form, always control the movement and dont swing.
I also keep my abs contracted. All the time. It was hard in the begining and i needed constant reminders, but now i can go all day like this. It's become a reflex. Been doing it for 3 years now. (Gym 1 year) I think i may be doing it in my sleep as well ( at least i go to sleep and wake up with them contracted). It also helps with posture (helped me correct anterior pelvic tilt almost entirely).
