This is true, worked as a Wal Mart Truck unloader for only around 6 months and my fore-arms fucking exploded. Just pick up heavy stuff to where your fingers have to bear a decent load.
An alternative to this would be grippers/grip strength things. Pic related. Your forearm size is mostly just the muscle that your body stores for finger/wrist strength, so strengthen those fingers.
