>want to get up at 5am to go jogging
>At 5am set my.alarm clock to 7am and fall asleep again
This kind of behaviour is unacceptable. What do I do to jolt awake at 5am?
Want to get up at 5am to go jogging

Two options:
1. You really TRULY hate the absolute STATE of your body, the way that disgusting subhuman bag of soft flesh stares back at you in the mirror, and the dread of not changing ASAP is what makes you get up before your alarm even rings to go for that fucking run.
2. Ask a friend to run with you, you'll feel obligated to be (relatively) on time for them.
These are good, also water. As soon as the 5am alarm goes off, splash cold water on your face and drink a glass of water as well. Also having an alarm clock that uses a song you find energizing/motivating may help.
Anything other than BFG Division is unacceptable.
Set your alarm clock to REPEAT PROCESS - 100 DEMONS and go fucking run you lazy shit
Stop being a pussy and just fucking wake up. It's not a fucking health condition, but you being a lazy fuck. Get up and move!

unironically this is my alarm
>Alarm rings, 04:45 AM
>Slept like shit, too tired to get up
>Reach for bedside table, pop a 250 mg caffeine pill
>sleep for 10 mins, wake up fresh as fuck and couldnt fall asleep again even if I tried
inb4 not healthy, cheating etc it just works too well to not do it

You need something to actually get you out of bed.
Might sound silly but a good strategy that worked for me was drinking a ton of water before I went to sleep.
I tend to wake up normally around 830, but my body really hates sleeping with a full bladder and almost always wakes me up ~6/7.
If you're forced out of bed to do something like piss, you'll normally find yourself motivated enough to say 'fuck it, I'm already out of bed'
Set an alarm for 5 am and rube-holdberg a shotgun pointed at your head and electrify the part of the clock to shock if you try to change it.
Alternatively make your alarm the national weather service alarm sound and toss your phone across the room before you sleep.
even if your will is weak, it is there. by time, those 5am ringers will become routine and you will start to gain some level of consciousness the moment the clock hits 5. eventually, continue trying to grasp that 5am wake and you will pull it.
consider, it will be uncomfortable no matter what, similar discomfort to waking at 5 would be not sleeping the whole night and skipping one night of sleep, guaranteeing yourself to fall asleep easier the next night. this might be whats necessary to start the routine
always put my alarm clock at the other side of the room so I have to get up and out of bed
Listen to your body user, being sleep deprived is the ultimate gains killer, save your mental health and just sleep until you are well rested.
If you truly need to wake that early try gradually waking up earlier everyday
This. I burrito myself in blankets so they all fall on the floor when I get out of bed. I would have to separate and rearrange them to be able to go back to sleep and I am too lazy so I just stay up.
Sleep earlier.
Believe in eternal recurrence
Based
>Get up out of bed and turn off alarm clock
>Get back into bed and sleep
Basdd
but how can i play wow classic with my friends then
popping a caffeine pill every fucking day? yikes dude, unironically stop that shit
Don't use an alarm to wake up, go to bed early wake up early nice and rested, EZ gains

I use an alarm clock that has an light that increases in brightness for a half hour before the beeping starts. It isn't perfect, but it helps trick your body into thinking it is day time. You can also start by getting up 15 minutes early each day until so you slowly adjust. Also, go to bed on time, because sleeping 4 hours every night isn't going to work.
What the fuck? Loomis head hunts me even outside of /ic/? Send help anons.
>go to bed 6 hours before my alarm at absolute minimum, haven't planned on getting less sleep that that in years, usually 7 or 8.
>wake up light alarm across the room
>frequently wake up before my alarm, go to the bathroom, and get a glass of water
>still routinely go back to sleep and get up every 10 minutes to sleep my alarm clock across the room 6 or 7 times before actually getting up
