I bet my friend that I could complete a marathon without training to prove his cardio only ass wrong.
Running or cardio has no place in my routine, just lifts. It's a month away and I'm starting to get worried.
Is this possible? Am I an idiot?

Yep. Have fun fuck face. Marathons are literal marathons. Putting aside the fact that you're not actually working on the muscles you use for running, a marathon is a grueling mental effort. It will take you literal hours to complete. Your nipples will bleed. Your legs will chafe.
What an idiot. What a fucking idiot.
cant wait to watch you puke on mile 3 lmfao
Start doing squats at 50% 1RM until failure for 1 hour a day
it would be possible "without training" for someone practicing a sport involving lots of running like soccer or whatever, but good luck giving up half-way if all you ever do is lift weights.
Is this bait?
>halfway
Id be amazed if he makes it to 5k
you're going to suffer & quit
user, you are beyond retarded. Back out while you still can. Admit defeat, or you might as well put a bullet through your skull since it'll do the job faster.
I dont think your body will be able to generate enough endorphins to counterbalance the muscles you will be destroying during the marathon. If youre seriously going to try, then I cannot stress enough that you maintain a controlled pace and keep your breathing under control. If you fail to do this, you'll likely puke at some point. You wanna puke after you finish the marathon because it really drains your energy reserve when you throw up. Also since you dont run, your form is probably going to be goofy especially when you get weary so try to be careful on your knees and wear some comfy running shoes. There is a mental state that experienced runners can get into that helps manage the pain from exhaustion that youre probably not going to figure out, but its sorta like a meditative state. It doesnt remove the pain, but it helps you care less about it because the pain becomes like a background noise in your mind. Obviously be well hydrated and try to carb load a day or two before the run.
Walk it
Tomorrow, or as soon as possible, run to a point 6.55 miles away from where you started and walk back. A marathon is doing this twice back to back. I say heal for a week, do the same thing again, then heal all of the way until the event. Your body will have adapted a bit and you can probably pull it off. What I wouldn’t recommend is running bits and pieces like two miles, etc. Your body needs to understand what it’s getting into— a horrible ordeal followed by rest and healing. Also don’t forget that people exactly like you die at events like this every year. Good luck.
Is the mental state like stopping thinking and just watching everything go by while running? Except you kinda feel nice from the hormones that rush to your head.
You’re an NPC dude
When I complete even half marathons and people’s reaction is just an empty “wow that’s far”
I can just tell they don’t know the distance
I can tell you don’t know what you’re getting yourself in for
You’re probably really unfit and will start breaking down past mile 6
Why don’t you just start training your cardio
Its not stopping the thoughts. Its a sort of flow state. Hard to explain. The hormones do help and I am unsure of if training makes those hormones more readily available. Perhaps op can tap into those channels without training, idk. Ive only been able to do it after months of 5-6 days a week hard training running miles and miles, good diet and steady supply of carbs.
you are a fucking moron, you are going to throw up a mile in and black out 2 if you even make it that far. It will be funny though
You runners are such self assured fags
Yea you're legit fucked buddy.
This. Literally your only chance of potentially completing it.
The Greek guy that started it all literally died after completing the 40km run in his armor
Your poor connective tissue you dumb retard
EVERY workout up until the marathon should have breathing squats, pullovers, and other heavy breathing exercises designed to increase your cardiovascular fitness without forfeiting the bet.
Of course that's assuming that the bet meant that you actually had to RUN the marathon. If you literally only have to complete it, just walk the majority of the distance then run the last mile or so.
Besides that though, you are an absolute idiot.
what a blessing Jow Forums is. Wouldn't know otherwise that retards like that exist. If you're serious OP, then buy a coffin beforehand.
Buy a coffin and have it wait for you at every 5 km lmao shouldve done cardio
Don't listen to any of these naysaying faggots.
Distance running is entirely in the head. As long as your only goal is to complete the distance and not care about your time. You just need to be able to block out pain and concentrate on anything other than the tedium of putting one leg in front of the other Iver and over and over again. Don't ever start to doubt yourself in the run because then it's game over. Just keep pushing through and thinking about what you're having for dinner, what jobs you need to do, anything other than the fact you are running. Also don't ever ever stop for a rest.
Bad distance runners are just weak minded.
t. Champion military long distance runner that preps for races with a few beers and a pizza the night before.
At least do better than that “dances with fat” bitch and finish walking it before the event is officially over
Ran a marathon at 16 in 4 hours, you can do it but it will be painfull and very slow
I did a 5 mile charity run with no training as in running and my legs were sore for a week. They cramped up as soon as i stopped running and it felt like they were going to explode.
You are so fucked you dont even know it yet. You may die.
Enjoy your trip to the hospital op kek
He ran about 250km already and I doubt he was wearing armour
No, the literal Marathon is a region in Attica
Best crossovers?
