Because most people don't spend all of their time researching their hobbies, looking how to perform a movement better. And why should they? They get fed false information all of the time, but they'll still make progress so they'll never question it, and a lot of people aren't aiming for 1/2/3/4 and beyond that. Most people just wanna get shredded, but not too big. The people who care will research.

Because, even with young people, the prevailing thought is that it has to be on TV to be real.

Every time I'm getting into something I go through the same steps: I spend weeks researching it, then when I talk to people who are also into that same thing I notice a lot of discrepancies between what they say and what I read, then I start thinking most people who are doing that shit are not doing it correctly and don't really know or understand a lot about it, then I worry this might be the difference between Theory and Practice or that I might be suffering from Dunning-Kruger or whatever, then I realize that people are fucking lazy and spend only a few hours learning something and then doing it poorly for years before they improve.

Food addicts(Obese people) can absolutely not do IF, they'll just over eat in the time frame anyways, with a priority on eating before their time runs out. The real key is actually counting calories unless you do a lot of physical activity.

I dunno man, it may be old school but I do best on the classic bodybuilder diet of 6 small meals a day.

Same goes for history, politics, and pretty much anything else. Most people are intellectually lazy. Not that complicated.
