no reason to not do both

I am studying mathematics

Am I wasting my time?

>going to college
>in the year of our lord

If you aren’t going to become a professor than yeah most likely.

No way.

Focus on applied data science and you're 100k starting.

Learn python or R.

no, STEM is never a waste of time unless ur doing experimental topology yes then it will be hard to find a job most likely

Sorry but if you're not studying arithmetic geometry you'll never catch the Langlands hype..

i wonder if you're the guy who worked with the langlands prog back then on sci, probably not i guess
he helped me a bit, and now i'm almost finished with my masters (persistent homology)

applied or pure? i assume pure, if so, take some programming courses (algorithms etc) and any IT-related company will prefer you over the people that do cs. if you're doing applied, you shouldn't worry at all.
t. has tons of friends in the industry

When drug dealers are buying all the things you dream about, your degree might be a waste of time.

If you get far enough, you're more likely to get jobs that involve more than just math. Study math, but considering minoring in something like forest management, or some other thing where most people aren't good at math, but need it.
