I'm a manlet with short legs, normal length arms and a long torso.

I know I was born to squat with my proportions, the movement feels very natural. I have only been deadlifting for a few months but i'm progressing and it feels a lot more natural than I had anticipated based on information I read online.

Have I just "lucked out" or what, I'm 5'9 for frame of reference.

shitty exercise for muscle gain? you call it a jack of all trades, but really it's like a shotgun blast of gains. if you adequately train for it (doing necessary variations. making use of ancillary exercises and having overall solid consistent progress) it will serve your body well. I know it's draining but I also think some of that comes from people doing too many heavy and grueling singles/doubles/triples. I don't think it would be too bad if you started with 5x5 of deadlifts and then did 5x5 of squats (I wouldn't add too much more to that though lol).

it's rarely a big difference between short and tall people, it's almost always a cope unless they have extreme proportions
