How do you fix short attention span, concentration and how do you strengthen your memory? I read books but I forget everything anyway, also years of switching between Jow Forums tabs made me senile and weak mentally, I can't concentrate anymore. What's the fix here?

you probably have adhd. im diagnosed with it and have the same problems as you. go to a doctor asking for help, try atomoxetine (Strattera) first, if this doesn't work, try stimulants (dexamphetamine, ritalin/methylphenidate), america has a fuckton of alternatives btw. also, coffee helps me unnoticeably to myself, but measurably to others, also gives me mad hand tremors and heart palpitations but stimulants dont, bodies are weird.
your mileage may vary, everyone is different. family members who are diagnosed can have vastly different effects, its all brain chemistry yadda yadda we havent figured out yet, but trial and error is the best way for this.

Rather than something you have to do, there is something that you could stop doing. Stop doing all things that release dopamine but are neither productive (productive can be anything. I would count time spent in learning a new hobby or skill as productive) nor end with you learning something. This easier said than done and when you start doing this, obviously you'll start to feel restless and irritated bc your body can't deal without it's normal dosage of dopamine. Don't take the edge of by fapping or smoking or overeating. Stew in those feelings. When you feel you need to take a break, either switch on to something else or just lie down no phone. When your brain returns to normal levels of dopamine sensivity, you should find all things you specified easier to do.

Easy:

1. Learn a random course on something (Coursera or MIT courses), dedicate some time to it
2. Try to read some fiction books (this will improve your vocab), litcore is a good start
3. Read articles a few articles everyday, could be scientific or not. I know a lot of old people who haven’t gone senile cause they keep reading newspapers and books
4. Stop masturbating (max once a week, probably hardest thing to do. If you can control this the other points should be easier to accomplish)
5. Try to hangout with friends once in a while, if you don’t have any, try Discord/volunteering/hobbies
6. Stop playing MMORPGs/FPS/MOBAs. RTS or “normie” tier games (Hotline Miami or Portal are engaging and relatively casual) are fine but don’t overdo them
7. Try to watch some interesting movies at least once or twice a week
8. Get off social media (disable everything except messaging apps)

Unplug your internet for a few days a week. Start with just one and work up from there.

After years of researched I've compiled a no nonsense routine that will give you a super humanly fast high speed brain. If you follow this regime your mind will simply operate on a whole another level, you'll have matrix reflexes, be able to process large chunks of information in seconds, laser focus, sharp as shit wit, and a crisp vivid memory beyond what you thought possible. If you're shit at your job, following this will probably make you a top performer. No magic, just hard work.
Here's the routine:
1. Dual N Back software (20 minutes) Quick to learn, Get good at it and work your way up 20 level Quad N Back.
2. Juggling (15 minutes) - Work your way up to being able to juggle 4 balls in each hand.
3. Coin catch (15 minutes) - An old boxing training method, get to the point were you can toss 5 in the air and catch them before they get below your waist.
4.Dodging balls/punches ( 15 minutes) - Draw a 5 feet circle around yourself and try not leave it while dodging. The point is rely as little on footwork and strategy as possible while emphasizing instinct, reflex, and, will as much as possible. When you get good enough...do it blindfolded.
5. Meditation/prayer (20 minutes) - it can be any sort of meditation. Present awareness meditation would probably be most ideal
6. Mental Multiplication (20 minutes) - start with DOUBLE DIGITS, be relaxed and focus. This part is very difficult which is also build mental toughness and as well as mathematic and concentration ability

Routine/progressions: you dont have to do all the exercises in one day. You can do 3-4 one day and then 3-4 the other day. As you get better feel free to extend the time spent practicing each exercises to an hour each.

Diet/Nutrition: I highly reccomend Matcha Tea. Look b-compxes, gaba, omega 3s, and other notable brain boosters.
