How do you handle this?

I never do more than 5 eps.

i just go until i can only do one more, and then stop. don't bother counting usually unless i'm going for hypertrophy, and even then the specifics don't really matter all that much.

I do sixth reps just to be sure all the time.

How do I have such low RAM. Absolute brainlet

I forget in what set I am sometimes

dont be a cumbrain

if you can't keep track of counting to 6-8 you have bigger problems than lifting can fix.

1... 2... 4... 5.... 4... fuck ill just start over

I only do 14 sets off 88 reps
Heil Hitler!
I'm not racist though, that's just how it is

>6
Oh no no nono no
Someone post the graph

Based

Dont bother counting
Just rep to failure

Your muscles dont care.

I don't lose count because I'm not a kindergartener.

This, having a set amount of reps is retarded, just work until you fail

Ngmi

Based

>not pushing yourself so hard that your basic mental faculties start to fall apart by then end of your session
Cringe

I always count from whatever rep I lost count at. Don't wanna cheat myself

I draw an imaginary rectangle with 5 points on each side under the bench. I do 10×10 so i put my keys or something on the points and move them one step around the rectangle after each set. I never lose count of what set im on now.

I have such shitty memory that I actually note down in my phone a number every time I do a set. Otherwise I'd do 6th sets all the time. Reps it's pretty rare but still happens

Holy fucking autism

Don't knock it till you try it dude. It fucking works.

>5 points
>user summons a demon by benching

I just keep track of my sets like a normal person, that works well enough for me, thank you though

Is a gains demon better or worse than a gains goblin?

Continue from the last number I remember counting

I do something similar when I do abs. I have to hold this position for a few seconds and I always lose count of the rep I'm on so I look at the bolts of nearby pec deck

I work out at the library. Now I can count to 10 without issue.

That's actually ingenious.

I tend to not care about reps as in general my rep range falls into....
3-5 (overload)
5-8 (strength training)
8-15 (working)
15-20 (for reps)
+20 (endurance training)

The exact reps dont matter and can vary based on rest period and a handful of variable...so being over/under by 2 reps or so....who cares...

But I tend to lose track of set # for some reason. I have myfitnesspal but it slows me down having to log into it and generally get distracted by phone when I pull it out.

Thought about bringing in a paper/pen for tally marks, but that seems like a pain.

brb only doing 9 reps ever again

This means you lift too light. If you lift heavy weights you'll know what reps you are

so is 3x8 objectively better than 5x5

I never have this problem unless i go above 15 and I'm pretty fucking stupid

just go by feel bro

>3x0.9 is more than 5x0.6
excuse me can you not read a graph?

This can't be true.

no

Lmao

Idiot

I move a finger in sequence to count while counting verbally. If necessary, I'll shift my toes in sequence. It's not difficult to do.

Come on. This can't be real... right?

What graph omg pls post

>I do 10×10
Post body

see

Go with the smallest number, and do more.

If you're lifting at such low weights that you can casually keep track every single time you lift then you're ngmi

Rel8able

For sets I increase my rests by 15-30 seconds every time, starting at 1:45 and ending at 2:30 on 5x5s, or for 3x5s I do 2:00 and then 2:30. The hard part is just remembering I’m only doing 3 sets of a certain exercise after coming off a 5x5. With reps I’m pretty much always though
>one
>two
>three
>four...?
>I think I counted twice on one of those
>ok this rep is gonna be four
>aaaaaaaand fffffffffffffive
>that was probably six
>fuck

I scream the numbers out and when I forget I scream out what number was I on, the gym in a chorus like heavenly angels sing back to me what number I was on

You find it difficult to count to five?

unironically count backwards and out loud

FIVE. FOUR. THREE. TWO. ONE

youtu.be/Mu0cE9RgK5M

read it and weep. multiple studies have been done to confirm this.

So funny

What the fuck is meant by this? Should I only be doing sets of 9 from now on?

>6-7 reps do nothing
There are people on this board that actually believe this lol

Sometimes this

This shit is the worst. I try to assume I did less and move on

You are probably not lifting heavy enough. When I'm doing a heavy set you better believe every single rep is unforgettable

This one gets me every single time

Instead of having a spotter i ask someone to rep count

If I have to do more than 3 reps then I'm doing some accessory bullshit, I don't care.

>lifting so light that your short term memory still functions after 2 reps
Ngmi

Gains demon is a succubus, so the answer depends on whether you're a cumbrain.

I often forget if its my 4 or 5 set

If I forget, I do as I didn't do the set/rep and (re)do

glad im not the only retard that cant count

gains goblin steals everyone's gains equally.
you can make a pact with a gains demon to steal other people's gains instead.

I say the number I am going to do before the set multiple times, both in my head and out loud.

Ngl working out is so boring my attention lapses and I think about other stuff and before I know it I lost count of my reps
