The Bar Weight

Do you guys count the bar when you lift?

Yes because not all bars weigh 45lbs.

true, not all bars are subpar chink shit, there are quality bars too and they weight 20kg.

what did he mean by this?

Put 4 45lb pl8s on each side of a bar that weighs 25lbs and do the same thing with a bar that weighs 45lbs.
Do you notice one being heavier than the other?

There's also specialty bars that are much heavier than 25kg.

what does that have to do with OPs original question? If every bar was 45lbs, would you not count it?

shut up with your inferior imperial system. metric will rule.

No you idiot the weight is built in. If you have two 45 lb pl8s on a 45 lb barbell you have only lifted 90 lbs.

Depends on if you're a memester or not.

Obligatory 'your flag is not on the moon' comment.

this

you guys realize the weight stated on the side of a plate is including the bar weight right?

people still doesnt know basic things like this? what is going on on this board, people really count the bar in? that explain why Jow Forums post big PRs with pics of subpar bodies.. disgusting.

Of course. I bar = 1 pl8
That’s why 1 pl8 is 135; 2 is 225; 3 is 315

pl8s are 45 because that’s the closest to 20 kilos but we’re not complete fags using the metric system

>count the bar in
>not a faggot
choose one faggot

You're lifting it, so why wouldn't you... what kind of question lol

Objectively wrong, never touched a weight in your life.
Retard

So if you're lifting with just the bar, how much are you lifting big boy?

(You)

no, you can't perform the lift without the bar, it's like counting the weight of your arms

Adding 45 pounds to your sub 3pl8 PR isn’t really going to make a difference. This is why dyels count it, and seasoned lifters don’t lmao

0lbs

>add more than one plate
>bar spins to get heavier
simple mechanism, been around for years

>Implying I can't do shrugs, curls, OHP, calf raises, zercher squats, hip thrusts, etc with just plates.

Are you lifting the bar? Then yes, you count the weight. If you bench an empty bar, you're not benching 0lbs/kg. Don't be retarded.

Shouldnt it float?

no mass =/= no gravity

turn your brain on

Are you actually retarded?

Of all the retarded memes to come out of Jow Forums the
>Lol only dyels count the bar
meme is the fucking worst and dumbest.

No mass DOES mean no gravitational force. Gravity is a force affecting masses.

It wouldn't float, it just would not accelerate towards the center of the Earth. The only force it would feel (if thrown) would be drag from the air, and so it would eventually creep to a stop since friction is not a property of mass (like gravity) and then it'd have no forces acting on it.

Or if it didn't slow down before reaching space it would just keep going at a constant velocity.

i forgot to include this

Yes. It's weight. If you lift just the bar you aren't lifting zero pounds.

Attached: trolledhard.jpg (365x360, 29K)

It's in water though.

ok ya fuckin dork

I will never understand how "pretending" to be a moron online can be construed as a win.

OP doesn't know how to count. Or lift weights.

so do you count the bar now?

could you imagine being this upset on 4channel?

time to do my body weight squats by loading 4 plates on each side of the bar

I bring a commercial load sensor to the gym and use it to lift with so that I can get real -time weight measurements. This helps me avoid under or overworking myself due to monthly gravitational variations

Photons

>Do you guys count the bar when you lift?
wtf? it's only ONE?

Moron you only need to count one side because they're both the same, so if you put 2 plates on each side you lifted 40kg/90lb. Honestly amazed at the twinks on Jow Forums sometimes.

based and underrated

>despite lifting 0 (zero) plates you're not lifting 0 (zero) pounds
This is how stupid you sound

Based and high brow

>The bar has weight
>You somehow cant understand that

Yeah I'm totally the dumbass here.

no, in fact i don't even count the first set of plates as they cancel out the bar weight

So if I fling my arms in the air without bar I'm somehow lifting negative 45 pounds?

bubbles are fucking terrifying

How the fuck would you zercher squat without a bar?

You don't count your arms? Fuck, I need to recalculate some PRs

Yes. That's why unweighted cardio kills gains because you're basically squatting -45lbs

>He only lifts with one bar
ngmi

Before you lift the weight of the bar isn't there so when you lift just the bar that's added weight to yes adding the bar makes sense.

No and neither does my son!
