My girlfriend HATES breastfeeding our 3-week old.
She hates pumping, she hates how it hurts when he sucks her titties, she gripes all day long about every single part of it. Her milk’s been drying up lately because she gets so bored of pumping she just doesn’t do it as often.
Baby vomits up formula when we give it to him, and I know real milk is better for him anyway.
How do I convince her to woman the fuck up and start baring those nips?

I think so little of women who are capable of feeding their baby breastmilk and choose formula themselves. I have a 4 month old and my wife found breastfeeding too painful, but she still hooks herself up to the pump every 3 hours like clockwork because she's actually a caring mother.
Dude, I know. The pain was her problem at first and she cried over it so I kind of understood. Now she’s just so set on the idea of eventually going to formula, she’s wholly too lazy to even pump.

Lanolin on her nips after nursing, it should help a lot but she’s gonna have to deal with the pain for a bit until she loses sensitivity there dude. Breast feeding is important not just so the baby gets fresh milk but it’s also really important for child development and bonding. Your kids gonna be fucked up if they don’t get breastfed, find a nice way to tell your gf to suck it up, no alcohol or unhealthy bs until the kid is done nursing either. It’s rough but she chose to have a kid and that’s what you have to do.

Help make it easier on her, breastfeeding can be legitimately painful without proper care, it's better if you ease suffering now so she can breastfeed longer. Invest in nipple shields if you haven't already, it'll also help baby adjust to a bottle when you're ready to wean them off of the nip, or you're stuck at home with baby and only have bottles of breast milk. Ice packs also help immensely, just make sure you have a wash cloth in between whatever you're using for ice and the skin. If she's dealing with sore/tender nipples, Lanolin will also be a life saver as far as treating those symptoms.
Have her also look into breast compressions as well. It increases milk flow, meaning baby will be on her breast for a lesser amount of time but still getting the required amount. If that doesn't help increase milk production, have her start eating oats. They make special oatmeal/cookie mixes that also have fennel/fenugreek in them that boost production - regular fenugreek supplementation would work just as well.

Thanks user that’s good. Right now she’s just pumping, basically given up on the direct tit entirely. Which I’m cool with as long as she keeps actually pumping.....it’s a Medela double electric, really good one, but she still hates the inconvenience.
No worries, my wife struggled a lot with breast feeding because we had twins, and neither wanted to latch when we started. Medela is a really good brand, that's also what we had. Do you guys have one of those bustiers? It'll at least make it hands free so she can be semi-productive while she pumps.

I'm not a woman so I can't speak from experience but I've read that making sure the baby latches on to the areola and not the actual nipple part is pretty important to keep it from hurting.
If you love your son get her to do it. The amount of minerals he gets from milk at an early age determines cognitive growth, immune system health, physical development, etc . You picked a shit mother btw

I unironically think there is something to the whole breastfeeding is superior thing, I'm the youngest child and was the only one of my siblings to be breastfed, and I breastfed till I was 4. I'm the tallest of my 3 brothers, have the best hairline, was unironically the most chad, only one to be interested in lifting, I'm the only social one (others are far more introverted, are into vidya and computers) and I have the best health (one bro had cancer, one has bad allergies, etc) and I rarely get sick, my brothers even lovingly refer me to as "chad" half the time. I'm also the only uncircumcised one too, only big physical con is I'm a fatass (6'0 250 lbs)

My wife had a lot of difficulty breastfeeding, my son had tongue tie and he never managed to latch properly. We went through a month of listening to the breastfeeding mantra, pumping, and having a hungry and unhappy baby who wasn’t putting on weight, before we starting supplementing and then switched to formula. He was a different baby, started growing, much happier. The important thing is that your child is fed, and that you’re in a mental state which enables you to be good parents.
All the pro-breastfeeding advice is based on incredibly flimsy science and straight up conjecture anyway, things like cohort studies or trials in the third world. The better quality studies, like those looking at siblings who have been fed differently, don’t show any benefits from breastfeeding other than a modest reduction in stomach upsets. Honestly, look it up, the claims that pro-breastfeeding groups make are the female equivalent of broscience.
