Ballroom dancer here. Couples dancing is best. Do not go for solo dancing like hip-hop or modern jazz dances if you want to make social gains or be able to dance in public off-stage. Ballroom will give you great cardio gains and will require you to do some light lifting for the flashier dance moves.

No its not too late. The best guys are unironically 40 years old, overweight, are balding and wear typical dad fashion. Most of the women are in their 20s.

It would take about half a year to get to the point you can dance to a song at a social event without doing the same things over and over again. But dont let that discourage you.
