I used to row for university freshman year. We were used to rowing in 20 degree weather in winter. On days when it was to cold to row, as in 5 or below, on the river we'd have to get our workout in indoors. We would erg (rowing machine) for, I shit you not, an hour. It is absolute hell. It is a black hole. It is a good workout? Hell yes. It is my first choice? Absolutely not
