I'm not sure, there's so many things to do, so many different paths to take. I want to find success eventually, but I'm not entirely sure what that would even be. Its frustrating, I wasted years playing rocket league and being a emotionally detached, disconnected loser. I want to become the person my parents think I could be, to earn back the respect of my siblings.

I'll tell you a few things my acting teachers have told me in the past.

That means you can deliver the same line differently a hundred times depending on how you're looking at it, or even how you're feeling in the moment. The job of a good director isn't to dictate your performance, it's offering you advice on where to look for the shaping moments

Some people may not like your performance. Some people may think you should be doing bigger work than you are. That's life. As an actor, especially an early one, you need to check the go at the door, and make what you do personal, but don't take things from others personally. Very few people are out to attack your creativity, so trust your instinct to do things over your instinct to hide. I've worked lots of jobs in politics; campaign consulting, lobbying, managing a legislative analytics platform. Now I'm a liaison for a federal agency and in grad school. There are lots of people in my program who are taking the international concentration route and just assume that they are going to find a job after. What is your plan to become a diplomat? Will you take the FSOT and work for the state department? My understanding is that there are academic prerequisites that are unwritten yet expected to join embassy staff.

At higher levels, like to become an ambassador, I think there is evidence to support that assertation. However, at the lower levels like embassy staff, it is possible if you go to the right schools and make solid connections. I'm not sure how competitive it is though. The only guy I know who is in that world started off as a government relations representative for Halliburton in Dubai. He had to work extensively with officials in UAE and state department officials daily. Once he had those connections (Halliburton, State Department, UAE leadership) he received an offer to move over to diplomatic staff for the embassy. He turned it down because he received a promotion instead and the private sector will pretty much always pay more than public.
