OP here. We don't have them in continental Europe. I was always curious why Americans have them. I though class segregation was abolished since 1789. Appearently not for Americans kek.

Who do you think is going to have a better shot at getting into an ivy league school? Joe Schmoe who graduated with a 3.1 GPA and few extracurricular activities, or Joseph Schmeckelstein whos parents paid $15,000 annually to get them into a rigorous private school where he learned 2 foreign languages, captained the swim team, graduated highschool with a year of college credits already, and maintained a 4.0 GPA.

I can't believe no one has said the real answer here, the main reason is because public ones get shot up.

There's also the fact that it gives you a massive advantage when apply for tier 2-1 colleges and it's relatively cheap aswell. If I had kids, which I never will because I'm not a cuck, I'd send them to private school.

Many reasons.

1. Better education, better teachers, better equipment, etc.
2. Look good on a college application.
3. Students can make connections with other people and mutually guarantee success.

Ultimately, it's good for the classes to have a separate place for each other. Rich people take pride in their appearance, their homes, lives, family, careers, etc. Poor people do the bare minimum or none of it at all, letting everything around them go to rot. If people who worked harder for what they have, or, what their parents or grandparents sacrificed for their children's future, want their own kids to have a higher quality education, what is the problem?

If their parents worked harder and didn't blame all their problems on boogeymen, maybe more kids could go to private school.
