i think what makes it special to me is the vivid imagery seeping from every sentence and the raw passion and character that can be found in each instrument
the whole album feels vulnerable and intricate with each track having it's own story to tell (my favourite tracks being gardenhead / leave me alone and where you'll find me now)
i love it to death
not to say these are lacking in aeroplane but they feel more prominent in on avery island to me at least, glad to see it's appreciate elsewhere

Favourite series from that list are Bad Boys, Red, Bakuon Rettou and Be-Bop High School. Red in particular is probably my favourite actively scanlated series and Bakuon Rettou will end up being one of the best manga I've ever read when it's done (4 chapters left to scanlate).
Something I finished recently which I really liked was The SKull Man, a remake of the original Skullman which served as the inspriation of Kamen Rider, was really cool. As Detective Robot by the guy who wrote Kamen Rider and Skullman, holds up well for something written in the 70s.

I sort of completely ignore the second half of the manga as non-canon fan fiction which is kind of what it is. And I do think it's the 3rd best manga ever made desu.
Red is particularly action packed, every chapter is pretty fast paced and it's about a topic that isn't that common in manga (Red Indians and Wild West in general) and the art is really good. I'm really into delinquent manga which are usually all fist fighting without any bullshit battle shounen wizardy and power level wanking, but Bakuon Rettou is a much more realistic take on that and bosozoku/biker gang culture in Japan and it's amazing. And it's by Takahashi Tsutomu who is known for compelling stories and great artwork. But for something more action orientated I'd god for Bad Boys or Rokudenashi Blues which is drawn by my favourite manga artist.
