As I've entered my mid 20s I've actually felt the opposite, i.e. that there's a pretty big difference between say 18/19 and 25, and that it's a huge age gap for a relationship all things considered.

Although, with that being said, I imagine as I get older that perception will change to something more like what you describe. Admittedly, 20 is definitely a bit of a borderline example though even now. Would have been better to explicitly state 18 or 19.
