Why haven't you switched over to contacts or laser eye surgery yet? I'm sure you're aware that glasses make you look like shit. Only the chaddiest of chads can pull them off, and even then they give off hipster vibes.
Why the fuck are you still wearing glasses?

I might look like shit but I look smart.
>Why haven't you switched over to contacts or laser eye surgery yet?
I'd have to speak to somebody to organise that.
My face is so ugly my glasses genuinely make me look better
And also I'm very afraid of getting contacts stuck in my eyes
>Contacts
Don't like touching my eyes, plus I gotta keep buying more. Even if they do make me look like I consume onions daily glasses are easier
>Laser eye surgery
I'm sceptical that it'd work and it sounds kinda spooky, plus I don't think that fixes all eye problems
is trendy to have glasses now and people who don't need them want them.
I can't wear contacts and I'm to poor for surgery. Why are you so insecure about your glasses OP?
Because i've been told multiple times I look very good with them and I love how I look with them as well. Even with them on I get loads of requests on various dating websites.
The problem is when people see that i'm 5'7" and that I am a complete turbo autist the second I open my mouth
>tfw handsome face and nothing else
i get consistent compliments on my glasses
glasses hide my bad eye area
Just needs a different frame. And a better haircut
You mean on Staceys? The kind of girls who'd still look good smothered in shit?
because lasik is a meme
What about PRK?
>laser eye surgery
Sounds sketchy and the success rate isn't 100%. Just the thought of it makes me very uncomfortable. Plus it costs a lot.
>Contacts
Tried them for half a school year. Putting them in and taking then out when I got home (I went straight to sleep went I got home) was a big inconvenience for me. I have no problem going near my eyes. Also when things get in your eye you either have to remove the contact or risk moving it out of place by rubbing your eye. Keep in mind your hands have to be clean and sanitized every time before you go touching your eyes.
Glasses allow me to switch between seeing and not seeing whenever I want and I don't have to touch my eyes. They're also easy to clean and keep clean and don't require a new pair every month which means they are cheaper. Sure, it changes your appearance but that's not so bad.
fuck you faggots, i cant see in one eye without glasses and havent used them since i was 10
AHAHAHHA
because i cant afford monthly payments, and i cant afford laser eye surgery. Also ive been told i look like a peadophile without glasses, so i dont think im going to stop wearing them any time soon
>You look like shit
May be true for schoolkids but in real business glasses make you look reliable & smart.
This is why many CEO's & top managers wear glasses without actually needing them.
T. Non glasses wearing guy.
>only been wearing glasses for 2 years
>the idea of putting something directly on my eyeball freaks me out
>afraid i'd eventually erroneously leave them on after becoming complacent and get in the pool or some shit
>heard that eventually lasik's benefits fade, and can often leave your vision worse than before. this is only hearsay
for me, i'm holding out on cybernetic eyes. i'm chill with waiting another 30 years or whatever
It works often, but it is crazy expensive and when it does NOT work you are fucked.
Contacts are annoying as fuck to put on. With glasses all I have to do is wear them. I'd get lazer eye surgery if I could but I can't afford it.
I did switch to contacts about 10 months ago. I have to admit, OP is right, in my case at least. Glasses were making my face a million times uglier. I looked like a complete fucking nerd with them, and if the lighting was bad, an extremely ugly nerd. With contacts, I at least tend to look pretty non-descript, like an average dude. You wouldn't even think about it, but the shadows that the frames of glasses leave on your face can make you look really bad.
Bold of you to assume that robots are ever going to come within an inch of success like being a high end businessman or CEO. At best you'd look nerd smart, not sophisticated smart. Also, for the people who choose to wear them, it's a style choice. They'd only wear them if they looked good in them, plus they could also afford very fancy high end glasses. Not that it really matters, it's just more of the fact that it's their choice. Robots don't really have that choice, they have to want to wear them if they want to see.
Also, trust me on this, it is absolutely worth learning how to put in contacts. I was really bad about touching my eyes and having things in them, but even for me it was basically a two-week learning curve and then I was able to get them in on the first try every time. The first few days sucked - it took like 15 minutes to get them in each eye - but it very quickly gets easier.
Bit overly negative, but yeah. I got glasses and contact but the glasses are out of data on dioptre and probably only make matters worse at this point.
New ones are not in the cards, at least unless I want to wear cokebottle-tier thick ones.
I do okay with month-contacts, but you better take care of them pretty well and it isn't the most healthy option either.
acutally, i am a eyelet who did laser surgery in 2013. now, 5 years later i'm back at -3.0 -2.0
best years of my life, but wearing glases gets easier/ more accapted also by females the older you get.
having any option on month-contacs considering the different brands? shill-pages tell me $$$ = better, but fail to stats real facts?
use some cheap drugstore contacs, all good till now
I pray to god my eyesight never gets that bad
You didnt need to curse to get your point across.
Only faggots and virgins care so much about how they look. Glasses are a utility not an accessory
but wait, im a virgin and my entire fashion sense is "is it comfortable" and "will it get me bashed"
>LASIK experience
Wore glasses from 9-10 years old to 25. I had all sorts of hang ups about having bum eyes, felt self conscious about it, etc. Couldn't wear contacts because my eyes were too twitchy.
Wanted to do LASIK for the longest time, but wanted to do it right. Didn't feel comfortable going to one of those mills that offer fucking groupons (buy one eye, get the other free). Went to a specialist and paid $4,000 for the procedure.
Took 10 minutes. Worst part is when they lower the suction cup onto your eyeball to make the corneal flap. Ton of pressure on the orbital, really freaky. Afterwards the flap is moved so the laser can get at it and reshape the tissue. Laser blasts your eye about 8 seconds, sounds like a taser. Don't feel anything.
how old are you now? did the 20/20 stayed or does the bad sight come back?
They move the flaps back into place and you sit up from the operating table. I could already see the hands of a clock across the room. Could never do that before. They check your eyes to make sure you're good to go home and give you a little kit with eye drops and a sleep mask and shit.
Your eyes sting and you can't keep them open much. You're exhausted. You sleep about 4 or 5 hours. Then you wake up and you can see. Next day at follow up I was at 20/30 in each eye. Week later was 20/20. Month later 20/15 and stable. No issues with night vision, halos/flares, not much dry eye either.
Honestly best decision I ever made.
Will it get you bashed is exactly what I'm talking about.
Wear what you want to wear and stop giving a fuck what people think about you
i go to the most ghetto school in my territory, if i dont think like that, i will legitimately get bashed
It's been about 2 years and I'm still at 20/15. Bad sight doesn't come back in majority of cases, and even if it degrades it won't be as bad as before. I was at 20/160 in each eye prior to surgery. It was fucking horrible.
Cope everyone says virgins don't care about how they look
Dude fuck what the niggers think desu they all have crabs in a bucket mentality. Rise above it
im on an anticoagulant, if i get punched hard enough in the stomach and get internal bleeding i will actually die
So change schools or wear body armor.
Sounds like your body wasn't designed to make it past 30 anyway. How premature were you
i have a mechanical heart valve, without it i wouldnt have made it past 14 so im cool with it
What circumstances let to that?
Glasses make looks less ugly.
born with Aortic Stenosis with bicuspid valve (eventually became quadracuspid after a balloon procedure)
I have 13+ on each eye and even though my eyes are hidden (Slavic eyes), my eyes look huge with my glasses.
Yes I was bullied for it, called ugly etc.
I tried contact lenses. First of all they have to be custom made so they are expensive. Secondly, they always break upon entering my eyes and leaving my eyes. They also tend to dry up inside my eyes.
And they don't allow me to see 100% like I should.
Anyone have this issue?
I'm waiting for medicine to be able to either grow new eyes or able to modify my existing ones. Laser surgery just cuts your cornea to be a lense which is just having glasses you can't remove.
>Which is just having glasses you can't remove
And this is bad why? Do you like not being able to see?
It means I won't be able to train my eyes by reading something close to my face and slowly moving it away, which I like to do to not degrade my eyesight even more.
I work in a chem lab so we're not actually allowed to wear contacts for a bunch of reasons
google.com
and laser surgery is just way too expensive and risky
Is that a real thing? I've never heard of doing this before
>get laser eye surgery
>find out I'm still ugly without glasses
Not needing the glasses are kinda cool I guess, but if you're an uggo it's not worth getting it for aesthetics IMO.
Eyes are muscles and using glasses all the time means you don't use them. It seems to have helped me but it might just be coincidence
What would you recommend for him?
I haven't worn glasses since 1997.
>Why the fuck are you still wearing glasses?
because it's easier than having to deal with contacts, and I don't wana risk my eyes with surgery.
besides I don't care
eye surgery is creepy
I know the odds of going blind from it are low but having someone tamper with my eyes freaks me out
I use the same, kind of. Trick is imo just keeping them very clean and replacing them soon enough (last part I honestly suck at). I prefer them with some UV protection where possible.
And perhaps the same companies that makes "lol halloween cat-eye" contacts might not be a good choice.
