only if it would be an upgrade to your current situation. Take full advantage of the welfare state, go for officer training and get an easy job when you get out of the military. Befriend high-strung high-test roided military chads that will help you get laid.

Otherwise figure out your problems on your own, it's less stressful

I can't tell how ironic your meme is but I love it.

Do you need good social skills to work in the army?

>tfw have always been a skeleton and a wristlet
>can't just dive into the army should my life go south
people with average builds are fucking blessed

only if you like serving jews just like pearl harbor

No there are plenty of complete autists in the military

Did recruiters harass students in the hallways of your school or is that only a low income school thing

Yeah, I want more Jow Forums battle buddies over here. You'll actually meet a few of us hear, especially in tech. Or combat arms.

Honestly,if you dont have anything good going on in your life then yeah. Thats what i am doing. Dont have anything meaningful going on or will be going on with my current life so might as well give it away to a cause that can use me. I just hope one day i can become a cia agent of the sort. Thatd be cool.

I did and I don't regret it! Downsides are you get treated like shit around a toxic leaders, you begin your first year in the Army in training where you have very few freedoms, and at times it can be very tiring. But...before I joined I was working at Walmart not even able to afford rent without my parents. Living in squalor, eating rice and beans every day like an asian peasant. But then I joined: I have a free house, free food, free clothes, a nice computer, I got a used car at 5% APR that I easily make payments for, a 401k, healthcare, dental, all the insurance you can think of, free college, and free college courses through the adult education center! When I get home from work it is me time. I sit comfy knowing that I have a good job and good money coming in!

I've been thinking about joining my cunt's army sorry American Recruiter but I can't do socialising well.
Is the army full of dudebro type people? what would you not recommend a robot do in the military?

The army has your typical dudebro types, but it also has a full range of people, you have normies, autists, retards, your occasional tranny, etc. Plenty of autists in jobs with higher test requirements, ie:intel, cyber

The Army is full of dudebro types. They make you compete for everything (schools, promotions, etc) and the leaders encourage competition. This brings a bunch of A-type personalities in the Army (aka assholes) no matter where you go. There is no escaping it, just accept that it will be like this no matter what. Go infantry. If you are gonna join the Army why would you not do combat arms? If you want to serve your country without killing join the post office. Y-you do want to be an airborne ranger don't you senpai?

Attached: VDV_maska.jpg (400x580, 113K)

Might go down to the recruitment office one day and see what they are like.
The enlistment general on Jow Forums wasn't any good for these questions
>If you want to serve your country without killing join the post office
Please don't invade some middle eastern shithole again America-san and we won't have to do this shit again

Attached: 1362869005245.jpg (2548x3504, 850K)

Guy I was friends with in the army used to say that because one of our guys was legitimately pretty autistic. 75% of army personnel are high functioning autists, the other 25% don't function too well.

>should I go die for rich people who dont care about me?
Only ever enlist when your country is fighting a defensive war

>Russia
>criticizing me about invading a third world sand people country
Aren't you still 2-0 to Chechnya?

90% of any army consists of non-combat jobs.

>thinks countries can magically make soldiers out of draftees when invaded
>allowing the enemy to literally invade your country without having a well disciplined and highly trained army to fight the enemy
>knowing this little about modern warfare

Attached: laughingatyoufag.jpg (588x506, 60K)

>implying I'm Russian
Calm down that was the first image in the folder. The Russians and Chechnyans should destroy each other and they would do the world a service.
I just don't want to join the combat arms just to take part in another of your decade long roadside bomb COIN campaigns in the Middle East again

dude boot camp is literally made for someone like you

I want to be a United States Marine but I scored a 19 on the practice ASVAB at the rectuing station.. it was embarrassing and I embarrassed my recruiter too

I got 22 on mine. :( last time I did that was 2012 right after I graduated. It made me study more but I lost all motivation when I met a girl.

I've been looking at part-time service in the National Guard or Reserves

Deciding between going Officer in Army National Guard, or Enlisting in either Air National Guard or Navy Reserves

Attached: 1482989721136.png (785x589, 385K)

Were you prior service?
Delayed entry program, don't go to basic next week if you cannot even pass a PT test. Do the US Army PRT (it is basically couch to 5k) and maybe supplement with starting strength (read the 'Jow Forums sticky). Basic brings you from nothing to passing the PT test, but so your life isn't a living hell spend at least a month following a workout program to git gud
Nigger fucking study for the asvab. A 19? They literally ask you questions like "is a cat a mammal?" How did you get a 19? I didn't know that was even possible

Wow ok thats something else.

Attached: 1514866842627.png (188x264, 77K)

I'm planning on joining the chair force or something if I can't make any life progress myself within the next two or so years. I don't want to join, but I don't wanna leech off my grandparents for too long

>wanting to be a weekend warrior cuck
>not wanting to be a full time ground pounder slaying bodies
Jesus Christ just don't even join. You might as well take hrt and try to be a girl like these other fags on the board. Nati guard or reserves? Yikes

Attached: 2006_surge_aesthetic.jpg (418x390, 42K)

I did and it was the best decision I ever made. (Sadly?) There's a lot of bullshit you got to put up with, but the brotherhood and sense of pride is unexplainable, after being an outcast my whole life I finally found people who liked me, we all shared something. I joined the biggest family in the world, brothers and sisters across the globe, it's a great feeling. However I have also lost a lot of friends, mentors, ect either in combat or due to suicide.

Is it a bad idea to enlist 11x or 68w option40 with a college degree? Starting junior year next semester and been wanting to enlist since I graduated high school. Can get 100 each test of the pft individually, but haven't tried doing them in sequence. Testing reqs shouldn't be an issue, but staying in after rasp sounds pretty difficult.
Plus I realize joining with a degree is a retarded idea but I'm so bored and the life of an airborne ranger sounds much more appealing.
Am I retarded?

Attached: boot.jpg (217x233, 8K)

you should have no pride in being an armed services cuck. have fun getting your legs blown off for weapons manufacturers

unless your a desk boy then have fun taking shit from overcompensating failsons on a power trip while other people your age party, have fun and oh yea get paid non poverty wages

I remember getting a nice letter in the mail when I forgot to sign up for the draft. They threatened me with a fine of several thousand burger bucks and jail time.

>post shitty military anime
we are going to get BTFO by Iran so hard lmfao

I come from a decent suburb (probably median income) and those fags were always at my school.

yeah have fun getting ptsd for Israel

>army
Only brainlets join the army
Enlist in the Air Force

Depends on what you want. I like the enlistment idea because they focus on training you for your job and not leadership. So while a mission may fail because of bad leadership as long as you do your SAW gun duties you are blameless and get all the good credit. And you are indispensable because you can SAW gun better than all your NCOs and officers because you are a SAW gunner. But then there are problems. Less pay, treated exceptionally bad, in an environment where your feedback is not asked for at all, and you are a technician not a leader. Officer route has lot of shortcomings too. No position is guaranteed, you could be in the 75th Rangers and they will stick you in a battalion staff job filling out paperwork. Secondly your job focus is on directing men and writing oporders, not on shooting. It is literally to a point when I go out on training exercises I contemplate whether I should dump my gun, I only ever use a radio. Oh yeah, and they blame you for everything that goes wrong. But then I get paid a lot more, I love organizing training and moving the men like pieces of a chess game on field exercises. You really feel like a leader, it is an amazing feeling when you do well during an event because you organized, led, and supplied training and equipment for a squad.

They never talked to me in the halls but they would call like four times a year

Do it. Except if you live in gaymany with its faggotwehr.

i'm already out of college with a full-time job and loans to pay, full-time military would not pay me enough to settle my debts but I still want to join so that's my best option

>Anime fag leading a platoon of men
Not even doubting you, I just find the idea hilarious

I'm just fucking with you. I think Nati Guard is doing 40k sign on bonuses this fiscal cycle. A rumor I heard, it might just be a New York thing. Check them out first I would suggest

Attached: bundeswehr_anime_girl.jpg (640x948, 74K)

i would frag you if i found out you were my commander and were an anime faggot

I wish, unfortunately I have major back problems from working at Amazon for a year.

Nice propaganda faggot kys unironically

LOL idk i didnt get one math problem right. i got a study guide and i literally will have to teach myself math too pass. i just want to go infantry 0311

The US military doesn't even pay minimum wage though.

Attached: us military pay342.jpg (1050x750, 224K)

Also recently the new US Army Infantry School Commandant made it a requirement for all 2LT graduates of Infantry Basic Officer Leadership Course (ibolc) to go to Ranger school. In the infantry officer world, they will FORCE you to do all the schools and put the flair on your uniform. You can't even lead a platoon unless you are tabbed out, being an infantry officer is the #1 way to guaranteed a ranger school slot. And if you join an airborne or air assault unit they are gonna make you do airborne/air assault/jumpmaster school. If you want to be a serious ground pounder I would suggest commissioning, while in Officer Candidate School applying for the infantry branch, do well in ibolc, pass ranger school, then put in a unit packet for the 75th Rangers. They will give you all the deployments, schools, and prestige you want. You will literally become an airborne ranger, nigger people sing songs about you.

Attached: 7th_cav_anime_grill.jpg (400x554, 52K)

Your not taking into count the free college, living, food and other expenses being paid for the 4 years.

Ok but which would you rather do?go to a dead end burger flipping job with no benefits at all or go to the military where you get benefits for joining and no dead ends at all?

You get accomodation, food and utilities provided for if it's anything like the British army. Factoring that in the pay is pretty fantastic.

This isn't Vietnam anymore, they expect you to memorize tons of shit and know a lot of stuff in the infantry. I literally have to memorize the altitude ceiling of every close air support jet we have, I have to take into account the maximum effective range of weapons in a squad and calculate the plummeting fire of the 5.56 rounds we shoot, I have to organize logistics for a platoon. The infantry uses an exhausting amount of math and universal knowledge. Probably more so than any other branch. This is a problem you gotta fix before joining. It's cool though. How does the pygmy eat the elephant? One bite at a time. Delayed entry program, get somebody to help you with studying, go through the ASVAB guides one page at a time and get at least above a 70. You can do it! Ganbatte! I know the USMC offers free tutoring with tutordotcom, maybe you can sham an account out of an active duty marine and have a paid online tutor break down stuff you are stuck on. But if you go into the infantry that stupid you will fucking die.

these
>dying for i is real

infantry doesn't even see combat anymore it's all done by Marines/army rangers/seals

whats the point unless you are Chad who was a linebacker in college?

or highschool whatever

t. has never been in the army or even knows what units are currently deployed

One of my main fears with doing rotc or ocs is not getting into combat arms. Of the people I've talked to, all of them have said that combat arms is really competitive for ocs and I really don't want to take a 5 year risk even though I'm pretty confident in my physical abilities. At least with an enlistment package if you fail rasp you still end up as your chosen mos, just not in the regiment.

I may talk to the rotc recruiter more about this as I'm not 100% on the officer route for getting a scroll. Not really after prestige or anything just really interested in seeing some action during peacetime. Probably dumb to want to enlist as an experience, but rangers seem to be doing a lot while general infantry isn't. Overall just get really excited when reading about soc things and have been wanting to do this stuff for over 5 years.
If you're currently in, could you tell me what general infantry is like? Don't know a ton of service members so opportunities when I can learn some are pretty sparse.

Attached: fagbomb.jpg (381x261, 19K)

You couldn't be more correct. Regular infantry absorb most of the conflict, especially in recent years where holding territory is just as important as taking it which is a major obstacle with insurgencies. The different commando units get all the glory because they're spearheading offensives.

Does gerd dq you from serving?

Enlistment is a stronger guaranteed of having your ideal job. But if it makes you feel better, right this second combat arms are open wide and the easiest to get into. The officer route for getting into a ranger unit is by putting in a "unit packet" where you request to join the ranger units. You will never just get assigned to one. You do RASP then they interview you based on your prior experience. So no they don't take fresh out of training boots unless you were like first in your class in ibolc and ranger school. It all depends who you know and how good you are. This thing about the infantry not deploying is bullshit, you'll cycle into shitholes all the time. Right now conflict intensity is very low, even if you go to Iraq you probably won't be shooting much. That all being said we got Russia, Iran, and Venezuela. We always think there won't be war then there is. For the infantry all I can say is take it very seriously and do your best. It is nothing like the other jobs or branches, what you do will absolutely determine whether people die or not. Everybody knows this so the environment is a lot more motivated and focused. The stress to perform well is high and can be overwhelming, lot of assholes in the infantry but you can't let them dictate your reality. IN general to do well, treat all your projects like the war effort depends on you doing well and give it your all. That's all you can do

Attached: i_am_the_infantry_follow_me.jpg (236x330, 23K)

army fag here, can help out with any question, pretty introverted too so might be able to relate to you

holy fuck that is some real shit. math is my weakness but if i can learn it i plan on leaving my civilian life behind and will try to listen and absorb as much of the Corps as possible so if i have math on my side then i know i can make it man. thank you but i got a long road ahead of me just to get in. tough being a sped. also thanks you for the reply man

The line will break your body down, regardless of how built up you are.

Despite the training value, rucking is absolutely terrible for your back, which you will do a LOT of at Ranger School/RASP.

I think part of the reason why the military in general is becoming filled with blacks is because their bodies are less prone to breaking and can serve as the better grunts to do gruntwork, they don't shoot as well though.

Except they don't go into combat arms. 99% of the time they're POGs.

There is a push to diversify the infantry with minorities/women though. I know of a female who had the same PT score i had, and easily got Infantry as her branch choice at ROTC, although they might just be placed in Staff/HHC.

I was thinking of going Infantry, but after the ~15 days of rucking around Knox, i decided it was not for me.

Id love to do infantry stuff and shoot, but the rucking man...fuck that and whoever keeps thinking its good training.

I guess giving my assesssment will help, it's stressful dealing with people that are power hungry that use their rank to justify their own fallacies. A lot of the times if you're doing a technically oriented job you may not do it leaving you feel like you're doing nothing with your life and round up to step 1. Your living conditions will typically be very poor also. Comraderie is nice, but it varies to each unit you're at. I know for me, it works for some people, it's not working for me currently.

I feel empty a lot, and my unit is pretty toxic, there's nice people like some of my NCOs, but our first sergeants and sergeant major encourage a lot of toxic work environments. It's not uncommon.

Pros for it are that these are not every unit and each offers its own uniqueness that's inherent with leadership, that's the thing though army revolves around how your leadership treats you, are you ready for that commitment? If you have a boss you don't like you cant quit

Honestly sounds way more exhilarating than riding a desk for 30+ years which is the current path I'm on. I'm pretty tired and about to go to bed, thanks for fleshing out some thoughts on going officer route instead of enlisting as e4. Will probably go to the rotc office at my uni just to get more information about what sorts of paths are open to me and other specifics.
The whole strenuousness is sort of the draw to infantry in my book no matter how short sighted it may be.
Thank you and have a good night.

Attached: calisthetics.jpg (736x413, 63K)

Currently in the army can tell you right now it aint worth it hell I cant stop you from joining but if you do sign just remember combat arms jobs are the worst jobs

Pick something like 42a and work in S shop Believe me your knees and mind will think you when jrtc rotation comes knocking around

Attached: B424B94E-15DF-47EB-B642-FECADD94D859.png (886x838, 375K)

I'm in the navy. Most days I hate it, but I think I'd be miserable wherever I am. Every one is so stupid, so I end up excelling, but it's exhausting. The navy is better if you're smart because they give you a guaranteed job before you ship, and if you dont like it just dont ship. I wanted something in aviation, and now I'm a based sonar bro. Almost every sonar tech I've met is mildly autistic so it works out, but not full blown neetlife like cts. Hell, cts have such problems with furrys at their school (look it up, Corey station).

What I'm trying to say is, is recruiters are going to lie to you, so make sure you know what you're getting into. Nobody told me that in the navy you're almost guaranteed to go on a deployment on a ship/sub, or about duty days (look it up).

Maybe I'll see you around shipmate.

Minimum wage is $7.25 an hour, not $15 an hour. McDonalds won't pay you a penny more than they have to. Also, you will *never* get 40 hours a week. When I used to work at Little Caesars, the store fucking manager got 39 hours a week because it was company policy to not let *anyone* work full time. You can avoid paying out any required benefits for full time workers by not having full time workers.

thought i was retarded when i got a 56 on my asvab, just do the oppisite of what you'd normally do and you'd probably pass hidden genius right there.

I seriously considered it back in high school, didn't go in because I didn't think I was tough or fit enough for the job. Now I'm glad I didn't. Too many endless wars in the middle east, they fight for a few wealthy elite, I don't trust the military to fight for America's interest anymore

Go for it. Otherwise you'll be regretting it later.

>joining boots on the ground
navy or air force
don't join the army and stay away from the marines
Don't fuck up and learn welding or some other skill that can be applied when you leave

When you consider you have no bills at all the in the military, if you have the will power you can put your entire paycheck or 95%+ in your savings every month. Someone working in fast food even with roommates would be lucky to manage even saving 200-300.

Someone in the military has way more spending power after considering bills, and thats on top of stuff like GI bill and other big benefits.

dude your a fucking retard. DO you seriously think the millitary pays you a lot?

I work with nothing but veterans, Some of them spent 10-15 years working. And the most they got paid was 60k a year. THAT AVERAGE INCOME IN AMERICA. so no they are not rich or making more.

You say you get all these "benefits" Yeah at the cost of risking your life for Israel, or some faggot european country, And do you have ANY idea how many people get out of millitary with fucked up Knees and back? or neck? a lot! and let me tell you something kid. the VA is not some super awesome hospital that treats the vets like saints. Its full of shitty government employees who are slow, and cant get any other job so they act slow, and get away it.

>dying for israel

fuck no

(Not that guy) Idk man my brother is in the coast guard and his life is way better than mine Im sick of being a loser who lives with his parents

Dude are you retarded? I was in the Air Force for 4 years and I got my associates degree in CS while I was in and by the time I left I saved up $32k then I finished my bachelors degree for free at the age of 24 I now have a job that pays 80k a year and I have 0 debt its not my fault some people in the military are retards who spend all their money on shitty cars and booze

>recruiters actually posts here
kek, how desperate is the US army?

Attached: F12756DE7EE14EEFB7F108F899AE5C2F.jpg (420x420, 32K)

The new pay is 1680 for the lowest, and if you go specialist and rise up in the ranks you'll get more money, which is alright.
Some retards though don't save their money and spend it constantly in the army.

There was a kid in my welding class who was going into the army, and he got a 7 on the asvab.

>slaying bodies
Unless you are 75th then no...

How is that possible? You can guess on every question and youll be 100% guaranteed at least a 30 Im retarded and I got a score of 75 and I basically guessed on every question on the math portion my only saving grace was my vocabulary and scientific knowledge

You could always join the reserves instead.

its just women complaining lol

Tried, being an anaphylactic allergic to dairy is a automatic no. Just fuck my genetics up.

we are going to war with Iran who will be much harder than both Iraq and Vietnam so very.
