Any of you guys raised religious? Have a question for you.

One time I asked my mom who she loved more. Me or god. Maybe that's a weird question to ask but as a single child with no friends and no father she was the only thing I had in my life. And even at 5 years old I didn't really believe in god. She answered god.

Now for those of you that are still religious you might say well duh. But my question is... was it ok for her to say that or is it kind of fucked up? Any of you guys have a similar experience?

Religious people are nutjobs. Who cares what they say?

well, ask her why she said that user, and maybe she'll be able to explain to you why she loves god.

God generally demands to be loved and adored above all else.
Yeah, to answer your question, I was raised Roman Catholic. Aske me something

>raised lutheran
>mom always loved god and went to church
Shes also a cheating alcoholic whore but we wont talk about that part
>forces me to church
>even young me thought it was bullshit
>tells me my dad is with God now
>this is what redpills me on abrahamic religions because i know my dad wouldnt be dead if god loved him
Fast forward 9 years from then
>interwebs is all i do
>get interested in mythologies and religions bc they're interesting (except abrahamic, they're all boring as fuck save for islam which is still meh due to muslims being dumbass durka durks
>find norse
Long story short ive been living for the allfather since i was about 15
Moms not happy but ill dab on her from asgard anyway

Religion is control by way of fear. All religious people are retards and deserve to be crucified

Maybe abrahamic religions, buddhists do it in order to achieve nirvana (and sometimes to kill muslims but thats based so its aight)
And as i said above you, i serve the allfather, its not about fear, its about glory. A glorious life and death commands a glorious afterlife.
If you were a glorious warrior in life and death, you have the honor of sitting next to odin in asgard
If you died and lived as a warrior still, but could not enter odins halls, freya might let you enter the halls of folkvangr
Not common anymore, but dying at see might grant you entrance to the halls kf aegir and ran
Even if you live an insignificant life, and go to helheim, Hel is not a bad place, and you will most likely end up living much like you did in life. Unlike abrahamic hell, Hel is not some firey filled place for those who sinned. Hel is not a cruel mistress, and Hel is where everyone but established warriors go. There is no fear of acting any certain way, only rewards for glory and honor.

>Now for those of you that are still religious you might say well duh.
Wrong. You mother is a dull idiot and I assume you are American. Anyone of faith knows there is no either or scenario and if you child asks you such a question, you don't got with God like he's your bowling pal.

you're not going to asgard
you're going to hel after you die your pathetic coward's death, unfit for valhalla

Wow clearly you're just an idiot
Hel isnt even a bad place, maybe you've been brainwashed by muslims christians and (((other groups))) but Hel is pretty much the same thing as life, you live with your loved ones, many times at a place exactly like where you lived before, but now you're free to do whatever
There is no realm for sinners as Hel is not as cruel a mistress aa youd imagine. There is no acting good out of fear, everyone from those who have acted against the all father and nonbelievers to lifelong believers find a home in Hel, there is no suffering in death, the allfather is not so cruel as your "loving caring" excuse for a god

you're still not going to asgard

Doesnt matter still get a good afterlife

no, I think it's fucked up for a parent to say they love more a thing that isn't really proven to exist than your own son. I was born and raise religious with a bible by my side, everyday my mum used to make me read 1 bible verse. I'm not religious as you cans see

You sound like you still are 15.

The foolish laugh at the wise for they seem the fools to the unwise.

the foolish also laugh at retards because they're fucking retards

Why on EARTH would you think the poster claiming to be Norse is underage? WHY WHY WHY?

>One time I asked my mom who she loved more. Me or god.
Makes me appreciate and love my mom.
Mine told me should would go to hell if I went because it wouldn't be heaven if I wasn't there.
Now I just need a romantic partner to tell me that as well.

This is correct. In return, I love God more than my mom. I told her this one time, and she greatly respected this. Ask yourself if you love your mom or God more. Can you live in heaven without your mother's love? If you need your mother's love more than God's love, you are not ready to enter the gates of heaven yet. Perhaps it was cruel of her to crush your innocent love for her at such a young age, but she is right.

No higher being would force me to sacrifice my child.

Muh god, mu-h muh religion

>religious people just so happen to coincidentally worship the same thing as their parents
rly gets the noggin joggin

reminder that religion spreads exclusively through fear and manipulation, not benevolence and love

Honestly if I wasn't raised in a religious household I probably wouldn't be so adamant on the prospect of an afterlife, not a believer in God tho, morals are way too situational to be a proper metric for anything

>born into Roman Catholic family
>dad dies when I was 4
>proceed to have to attend 1-2 funerals a year for the next 7 years
>attend church with mother and brother sparingly during that time
>half of the time I had my gameboy with me
>also attended saturday school until 9th grade
>got baptized, holy communion, and confirmed
>10th grade comes along
>been using the internet for many years now
>been doubting the idea of God and religion for many years at that point
>got a friend who was atheist who I was able to talk with about this kind of stuff
>came out to my mother as atheist
>was probably the most shocked she had ever been with me
>was also one of the most uncomfortable times ever in my life
She eventually accepted my choice, and now is fine with my decision and doesn't try to force religion on me. I'd probably call myself agnostic now, I want to believe there's an afterlife and souls, but I don't expect anything after death.

Holy shit you're me except my dad died when I was 15

Yes, in the grand scheme of things you are worthless to her compared to god, simply just another one of his creations just like her. Tasked to the exact same thing that is praying to God, die, and either get rewarded or punished.
Depressing, I know.

I'd be willing to listen to what you're saying if you would consider taking that cross out of your ass
