Depends on where you live, and whether you want to live in the ghetto. Cheapest apartments in my area are 500 a month, but I'd be living with a bunch of gangsters, crack addicts, and Somalians (which over here are often referred to as the niggers of niggers, to put it into perspective how shit they are). So unless you have loans or debt to pay off, it's doable, but not anywhere safe or healthy at all. Honestly I'd rather be homeless or bum it out in a car or boat.

I fucked up my dads car when I started driving too, I didn't crash it but still made some damage to it.
My dad owned an expensive Jaguar and a 4x4 toyota land cruiser. I came home late one night stoned and drunk and dad parked his Jag sort of close to the center in the garage, I didn't want to hit the jag and I was shit at parking big vehicles like his land cruiser so when I went to park the land cruiser in the garage I scraped the side of the land cruiser against the wall coming in, I realized I was in a shit position and didn't want to get caught driving his car drunk and stoned so I decided to keep going in, knocking off the side mirror and leaving a big scratch mark against the side of his car.
He found out and made me pay for the damage but till this day he never knew I was smashed that night. Also this was in a townhouse complex and all the guest parking spaces were taken so I had no choice but to park it in the garage and leaving it out on the street wasn't an option.
