No. You have to remember people are basically NPC's, once they're programmed to think and act a certain way it's nigh impossible to change their behaviorism.

What about you? Are you an exception?

plants change constanty
bacteria adapts
gods rise and fall
philosophies fluctuate
earths climate morphs

man can most certainly change user
though it is more difficult to change man
than it is to move mountains

a man that changes himself at the drop of a hat is no man
be resistant to change so that when you do, you are targeted, purposeful, and swift

Change? Sort of. People mature and grow up gaining new perspective.

No. Your personality is established at like, age 3. Or so I've heard.
You can always do like the person you'd like to be, though.

People change every day, its just so little and it happens in such a long period of time that people don't notice it. Its why you think people change more if you haven't seen them in a while, because you did not watch them change day by day like everyone else you know. Everyone changes, its just that humans are so adaptable that we literally don't see it.

Yes look at how far r9k has come, it's great these days filled with boipussy and sissies

You can't alter a person's basic programming (their personality) but you can change their environment which may significantly alter their pattern of behavior. For example, you could take the average shut-in, Internet addict NEET from this board and send them away to a farm with no Internet to do manual labor and their behavior and well-being would probably improve gradually.

It's hard to say. You can change your behavior certainly, and for anyone on the outside this is enough. You can lose weight, work out, take on responsibility, etc. and people will see you for the better. But can you change that inner voice? The one that has been following you your whole life? The one you use when you talk to yourself in your head or even out loud sometimes. The one that maybe comes out when you're talking to someone else free of fear from judgement, such as on a place like Jow Forums where your words are completely anonymous.

I don't really know. I know I've certainly changed behaviors before but I don't know if I've ever changed my personality.

The whole shtick of the human animal is adaptability. So long as your environment doesn't call for a change then you won't. If you truely want to change, make a seriously disruption to you average going about.for Example you can destroy your computer and video game consoles, amputate your arm, run away from home without a cellphone. Anything that would cause you to have to adapt to something new will teak you slightly and you'll start molding yourself around that change (sometimes) and that leads to a completely alternate person.

You can change this. The person I have become is markedly different and though there are doubts and dark spells I'm way more upbeat and good to be around now than I was a year ago or even six months ago. Change is possible and desirable but it requires concerted effort and the ability to take an unflinching look at yourself and the patterns in your own mistakes.

people cant change no matter how hard they try. We can change our physical appearance and improve our skills with training and study. But ultimately, we are judged by what we cannot change

Noone in here is a psychologist and if they're not posting any source you shouldn't listen to what they say.

Carl Jung didn't believe you could change your self as an adult, only discover it. You can only change your persona.

People are not even allowed to change. First impressions are too powerful. One of my favorite films, the Muppet Christmas Carol, depicts a man whose miserable attitude towards his fellows changes overnight to one of love and compassion. In reality, such a drastic change in behavior would be treated with suspicion.

The entire idea of self-identity is built on nothing. There is not one single trait any of us has that makes us different to anyone else. Think about it. It's true no matter how you define self
If your sense of self comes from your appearance, keep in mind that we all have doppelgangers.
If your sense of self comes from your attire, then imagine losing all your clothes. You'd be nobody.
If your sense of self comes from your views or demographic, think of all the people who share your views and your demographic.

You can't change what isn't there.

he actually had a reason to be pissed off tho

good question user, i think that people can change but it is not something you can actively seek, change is silent most of the time and it happens whether you want it to or not

Yes, but only if they want to. That's literally it. There will never EVER be a way you can ever change someone yourself. I tried persistently repairing my relationship with my parents for almost a decade with family therapy, discussions, arguments, and etc until I had to end up letting it go. It sounds gay but f you really do want to change the people around you, you have to change yourself.

No, I'm a piece of shit human and I'll always be one. Not trying to excuse myself but I won't pretend I can be something else either.

At what point do you admit that to accomplish anything of worth in this life you're going to have to become a wagecuck?
