I tried this and it worked but still no gf. I just have a ton of contacts and no gf.

Assuming you're already not ugly and are somewhat interesting because I have no clue how this part works, and assuming you're looking for a full relationship and not just sex

For a start you have to talk to girls you have things in common with and just befriend them like they were people, don't worry about pushing a relationship when you don't even know if you're not gonna hate the bitch 3 weeks from now
Then to make the friendship more intimate be progressively more emotionally vulnerable to build a connection
You have to kinda feel it if you're not oversharing and not closing off and it's best to match her level of sharing, but slightly less
You should put some flirting in there to prevent it from building into a regular close friendship, but I'm not exactly sure how to do that even though I succeeded in the past. If you overdo it you'll look like a creep or just too desperate and from my experience being on the receiving end of such a behavior is not fun even if you like her

Every social interaction feels like trying to let out a silent fart, you need to master all the muscle memory and subtle movements and sometimes you'll still fuck up and have the other party run away in disgust then feel like shit for months

Romantic relationships = emotional bond + sexual intimacy

Here's the actual answer. Do these two things, not in order but in parallel, and never stop doing them.

1. Improve yourself. Exercise, practice socializing, eat well, get hobbies and skills, whatever you want but that is productive.
2. Seek out girls. Join dating sites and actively message girls. Don't be afraid of rejections because you'll get many of them. But once you have improved yourself enough, you will get better and better and eventually some will stick.

Is it hard work? Yes. Will it take a lot of time? Probably. Is it even worth it? Only you can answer that. But one thing is certain, if you just keep doing it and keep doing it and keep doing it, it's almost impossible not to get a gf in the end.

I've had a few girls I've had flings with through OkStupid, but I'm fortunate enough to be naturally attractive and have a thing for fat girls, so it's pretty much as easy as sending a message along the lines of "Hey, tell me more about (X thing on your profile)", engaging in some small talk about it and maybe some of my stuff, then after 5-10 messages asking her out somewhere for dinner or a drink.

I'm not mentally healthy enough to continue past that point though, so I usually end up ending things with the ones that are crazy enough to keep talking to me after the first date. Only real long term girlfriend I ever had was actually from here, so... Yeah.

I guess my most earnest piece of advice for robots wanting to at least get as far as I have is this: cultivate hobbies and intellectual pursuits that you can speak and enthuse about genuinely. Unfortunately, only men are required to be interesting, and if you fail at that, you'll probably never get much of anywhere with women.

I'd be careful about befriending people you're attracted to because the other person will see the relationship as a friendship and at that point you've 'friendzoned' yourself.
